We decided to try the pub for lunch, although it was quite late - after 1.30pm. The food was excellent, with large portions and served piping hot. I thought it was very good value. The staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely return again!

A bit of the beaten track but well worth a visit. Stunning views of the lake , a warm welcome from the staff , good food and the best chocolate cake. Portion sizes are generous so have a main and save yourself for dessert.

I visited here with a large group for the afters of a wedding. The pub were so accommodating and offered to arrange music and put on a spread of food for us as well. The food (considering it's finger food and you don't expect much) was so lovely, well spread out, piping hot and absolutely did what is was supposed... More

I've been here a few times. The place can be busy but the food is worth the wait. It's a good idea to ring ahead and book a table. The menu is extensive. The food is delicious. The staff are really friendly. Save room for dessert !

Visited here with family whilst staying in the area. This was recommended to us and we now know why. Food was really nice, homemade, big portion sizes and reasonably priced too. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Four of us booked dinner at this pub. It had a warm and friendly atmosphere and the waitress was friendly and helpful. The drinks order arrived in good time and dinner arrived soon after. Each of us enjoyed the dish we has ordered as a main course, and two of us also ate a scrumpy pudding. The evening was very... More

Sunday lunch menu is simple but sufficient for a good hearty meal. No frills but a genuine honest good "home cooked" meal. Plenty of food on the plate and served in a timely manner. Decor a tad dark and tired but otherwise no complaints. Very reasonably priced too. Kids portions are great. Not overly impressed by pavlova as was soft... More

Had a very relaxing and enjoyable dinner at the Whiskey Still Pub. The mushroom soup was delicious. The crab cakes were tasty, the burger large and good. Our friends shared the chicken stir fry which they enjoyed and still had leftovers. Finished off with the bread pudding with choice of toppings. Delish! The staff were very pleasant. Would recommend as... More
