I've been here a few times. The place can be busy but the food is worth the wait. It's a good idea to ring ahead and book a table. The menu is extensive. The food is delicious. The staff are really friendly. Save room for dessert !

Visited here with family whilst staying in the area. This was recommended to us and we now know why. Food was really nice, homemade, big portion sizes and reasonably priced too. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Four of us booked dinner at this pub. It had a warm and friendly atmosphere and the waitress was friendly and helpful. The drinks order arrived in good time and dinner arrived soon after. Each of us enjoyed the dish we has ordered as a main course, and two of us also ate a scrumpy pudding. The evening was very... More

Sunday lunch menu is simple but sufficient for a good hearty meal. No frills but a genuine honest good "home cooked" meal. Plenty of food on the plate and served in a timely manner. Decor a tad dark and tired but otherwise no complaints. Very reasonably priced too. Kids portions are great. Not overly impressed by pavlova as was soft... More

Had a very relaxing and enjoyable dinner at the Whiskey Still Pub. The mushroom soup was delicious. The crab cakes were tasty, the burger large and good. Our friends shared the chicken stir fry which they enjoyed and still had leftovers. Finished off with the bread pudding with choice of toppings. Delish! The staff were very pleasant. Would recommend as... More

It's a pity there's no competition for this pub because over the years it has rapidly gone down hill! In my opinion, it needs a good clean and some of the staff could do with being reminded that customers pay their wages - and at least not be abrupt. The menu looks good but is expensive for what you get.... More

We were looking for a place to eat near our cottage and found the Whiskey still. The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. Everyone was very friendly. We would have gone back again but so many places to try although none as good in the area.

We had drinks on a couple of occasions and ate once at the Whisky Still during a week we spent recently touring the Lough Derg area, and whilst there are no real negatives to report, and the bar staff were very nice and friendly, the food was pretty average and there are better places to eat in the area. Location... More

Second time here recently. A bad experience both times. Last time i ordered a medium rare steak and it was well done, sent it back and the next one was very tough and tasted bad. This time waitress very rude and place not clean. Nice village but would NOT eat here. Do not understand previous good reviews.
