This restaurant was so packed with people that we waited at leat 45 minutes before we could get to order! The food was interesting however-arroz de tamboril-monkfish with rice as well as caldeirada de peixe (fish soup) in whichthe fish was extremely tasty but the soup was a bit dry. Overall it was ok.

We arrived in Nazare very hungry, and our tour guide suggested that we try Tamanco for lunch. It is a pleasant, clean, homey restaurant with good service even during the very busy lunch hour. We shared a bowl of fish stew, some bread, cheese, and olives. The stew contained 3 or 4 different large chunks of delicious fish served in... More

Just a step from the busy beach street we stumbled over this little restaurant serving Portuguese fish dishes. The various dishes we ordered tasted excellent!

This restaurant is very tipic fish restaurant in any city in the Mediterranean. Simple decor like it should be. The food is fresh tasty and not expensive. The vegetables soup was good, the sole fish great. Good lunch

A unique restaurant with a special flavour of Nazare. Excellent selection of seafood and meat. Try the "caldeirada" a selection of various fish that are locally caught

Excellent for fish and meat lovers alike. Menu is vast and good value. Try the homemade deserts rather then the shop-brought ice-cream ones - you wont be disappointed!

We arrived in Nazare just after 3.00 pm and hungry. O Tamanco is just off the esplanade fronting the beach and looked as good an option for a late lunch as any. At that stage we were the only customers and the friendly and helpful waitress told us the grill had closed but we could still have soup or a... More

Along a nice stretch of Atlantic Ocean beach looking up on a cliff with interesting rock formations. A small restaurant with tables close together. Owners and waiters are interested and attentive. There is no real view from this place which is a shame given its location. Their fish soup/stew is their main dish. A conglomeration of a lot of ingredients... More

During an afternoon tour stop, we visited this little Cape Cod style seafood restaurant (the restaurant is on the main road, across from the water, and it is blue and white). The caldeirada (seafood style stew) contained cilanto, tomato, onion, red and green peppers, potato, and a few varities of white fish (sort of like sword fish in its firm... More
