Dinner was outstanding! The Octopus salad and monkfish rice was the best. We spent time in Nazare, Porto, Sao Miguel and Lisbon and this was hands down the best dinner we had! Carlo the owner was fantastic!!! Very friendly and inviting! When I called for...a reservation he asked what time we want to come in. I told him 8:30 and he said when you arrive “ask for Carlo”! When I did he came to meet us and got us a table right away. After dinner he had a Port with us! Best dinner on our trip to Portugal!More

When I came in it was a very warm welcome to start. Then the food was just delicious! I had the fried squid - so soft! And the camarão for starters. As I am travelling solo I was asking for half a portion of the...camarão. No problem. The boss came checking on me regularly and invited me to a Glas Vinho Verde on the house. People started queueing and I asked if I should vacate the table as I was finished with dinner but they kept saying I should finish my wine tranquilly and enjoy it. Simply a great place!!!More

This is a family run authentic local restaurant. We had the cataplana fish stew for two persons and were blown away. Tasty fresh seafood, great cosy ambiance and super friendly hosts.

Very friendly little seafood restaurant with a selection of good affordable wines. Sea bass looked perfect, we didn’t select that this time but looked enviously at the neighbouring table as it was served. Our clams, crab and shrimp were excellent, and prices were reasonable. We...will return.More

Uh, umm, wow! From the moment I entered the place without a reservation the experience was incredible. The owner made me feel very welcome even while suggesting I come back in a half hour to 40 minutes for a table. Which I did. I got...there and was greet with a before dinner drink that was very tasty, while I waited for my table to get ready. Seeing the food on the tables was already making me hungry. I got to my table and I felt like an old friend in a friend's home. While I looked over the menu there were olives, bread and fantastically fresh, sweet, perfectly simply cooked shrimp to nibble on. (Paid for, but inexpensive.) I went with the freshest catch of the day - a seabass that had been caught the same day. Before it came out I was given a complimentary other glass of liquor that was great and a small bowl of one of the best fish soups I have ever had the pleasure of eating. Then the fish came. It was possibly the best fish I have ever had in a resaturant. (I worked on salmon fishing boats during university, so I know fresh fish.) It was perfectly cooked, simple and extraordinary. It came with a fantastic sauce on the side that perfectly complemented it. It came with nicely steamed brocoli, potatoes and a small piece of carrot; as well as a very fresh simple salad of lettuce, tomato and raw sweet onion. As I was alone, it was perfectly cut horizontally so that I had half the whole fish, which was plenty but not overly much. Every bite was simply incredible. And the owner, who is essentially an Olympic athlete of hospitality, was constantly coming by my table and everyone else's to make sure that they felt welcome and happy. This is very rare when I am dining alone. Usually people figure that since I am not a large table with a lot of people, I won't be spending much, so they don't go out of their way to see to my needs. This wasn't that, not even close. I was really too full for dessert but everything else had been so perfect - from the half bottle of house red wine, to the fizzy water, to the bread, olives, etc. - that I figured I must. Coffee mousse. Whoever heard of coffee mousee? Now I will search it out wherever I go. It was superb. Then after it all, a glass of port that they suggested I sip slowly to enjoy it. I did. And the whole thing came to a little over US$30, which was ludicrously cheap. I am in love with this restaurant. It makes me want to move to Nazare to eat here more often.More

Our family had an excellent dinner experience at A Tasquinha. The seafood specialties tasted amazing (we had the codfish, sea bass, and three different preparations of shrimp) and the dinner bread is some of the best in Portugal. Carlos was so wonderful, answering all of...our questions, making our kids feel at home, and making sure we had a great experience. I know we will be talking about this dinner for a long time after we return home!!More

Small restaurant with good food and excellant services, they do offer English menu and staff speak it as well. Food was very good from quality and quantity perspective, only shortcoming was that both main dishes for us was very salty even for me that likes...salt. Prices are very reasonable , Hence I would recommend it , just tell them in advance low or no salt ( you can always add salt if you wish).More
