Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Well, often in Spain, there is not much of a difference to eat in a more upscale restaurant (for $$) and a good decent local restaurant. It is the case for Mason de Andres, not bad but simply overprice. Stopped by for a quick bit...before meeting friends and family later. Had few drinks, took Jamon Racion and rabo de toro and stroganoff beef. Rabo de toro was good and generous, the stroganoff (serve with herbs rice i guess?) was ok, just floating too much in creme making difficult to know what is inside beside beef, but good also. So food was good, service was good, so what's wrong? The check, $125. So in some country, it is the price for 3 peoples with 1 app, 3 entrees and few drinks, but for Spain, it is a lot. I know local restaurant in Fuengirola (My wife is a local) where we been going for 25 years where you can eat as well for $60 (equal quality). If you like the classics, many places cheaper in town.More

A not very big restaurant, with specifically Spanish dishes. The appearance of the restaurant - elegant and attractive. The quality and presentation of the dishes - exceptional. Service - very good. The price - not excessively high. I highly recommend.

Called in as we stumbled into the restaurant at lunchtime. The food was excellent. We had a platter of vegetables and black pudding, and a lovely chocolate brownie to finish. All the produce was of the highest quality. Well cooked and presented well too. The...service was great, and the English waiter who lòoked after us was very attentive.More

My mother and sister live in Fuengirola, I have an apartment there and I've visited 50 times (more), yet never eaten at Meson Andres. That's a miss that won't happen again. The food was spectacular, as was the service. You'll need a reservation. They have...a live Lobster tank where you pick your meal for the night. We started with Oysters, then had some Jamon Iberico, then a Corvina Ceviche that was unbelievable, then Lamb Chops and Octopus - yes we ate a lot, and everything was brilliant. Our server was Morris, from UK, who was great - helpful, friendly, great advice and very efficient. We will return.More

Meson de Andres is conceniently located in the heart of Fuengirola and is traditionasl Spanish Steak House. However, it offers also some seafood - we got one of the best tuna steaks here! Their vine list is good and theeir recommendations are worth of following...when you want to pair your food with suitable vine. This is a family owned business with very friendly personnel. I have tried their steaks and also the tune fish and can recommend very warmly both.More

Disappointing visit, was very much looking forward to this night out. Table booked for 8.30, we were done & dusted with starters & main course by 9.20. Table location disappointing - remote corner & no atmosphere. We had pre booked so not walk in. Starters...were good - fish main course disappointing - practically raw cod fillet. Should have sent it back to the kitchen. Lamb main floating in gravy. No complaints about waiter service, attentive & professional. Just disappointing.More

Thanks to Covid and other circumstances it's been three long years since we've been able to visit Fuengirola and having given this restaurant great reviews in the past I was really hoping it would have survived the awful crisis the hospitality business has endured. And...lo and behold it's there but is better than ever. As always we were greeted by the ever present and hands-on owner Andres. There's no point in mentioning individual dishes as I couldn't do the range, quality and imagination of it justice - my advise is to get in there and enjoy! And whilst you're waiting for your meal take a look around and you'll notice that despite the slightly old world charm of old beams, spent wine bottles and more the place is spotless. Whilst we have a smattering of Spanish (and like to try it) we were assigned a wonderful character called Maurice who was born in London and like all the staff in this wonderful establishment his attention to detail was absolutely on point coupled with his very pleasant demeanour. There are countless restaurants in this town but Meson de Andres is head and shoulders above so many. Five star service, wonderful crispy white table cloths, a magnificent array of wines, everything on your plate is fresh and the flavours and originality of the menu results in a succulent and consistently wonderful meal and experience. I can't wait to go back!More

4 of us for the evening, all set for a good meal. Reservations were easy and friendly, could be solved via email. Greeted by Andreas, cute little venue, cosy. If we stay with the meat for a while, the entrecote was fantastic, savory, cooked to...perfektion. The chateaubriand was wonderful, perfectly grilled. All in All the meat was outstanding! The wine selection was good, proper recommendations by kind waitors. The sauces and the potatoes were not to the standard of the meat, the seevice and the venue. We shared a cheeseplatter in the end with a good selection of local cheeses, jams and nuts, well wirth it! All in All, great service, friendly place with good meat selection, good wines and cozy athmosphere, we'll definetly be back but we will order differnt sides next time.More

Beautiful old fashioned traditional restaurant with a promising menu and wine list. However staff were miserable, owner did not engage with customers other than a chosen couple of regulars. Customer service basically non existent. Our starters of black spaghetti with seafood and artichokes with romesco...sauce, although barely warm, were passable, but overpriced. Our main courses were incorrect and had to be changed. The shoulder of lamb was cooked well, and very tender. The house special steak was disappointing and of poor quality, considering there was an array of fabulous looking meat in a display fridge. Our first choice wine was not available but the red we eventually chose, from Malaga , was good and served chilled. We were not offered dessert or coffee, although not late, we were made to feel uncomfortable as the staff started to clear down around us, and felt we had to leave. During this vacation we have been wowed by the humility of restaurants that have weathered the storm of covid, and are fighting to survive, with innovative menus, great ingredients and fabulous customer service. Sadly Meson de Andres, does NOT fall into this category. It has a good local reputation, maybe we just went there on an off day.More

This restaurant, and bar, is the very epitome of Andaluz food and hospitality. Nothing is too much trouble, the staff are like your long lost brothers and the traditional food is exquisitely presented. Both meat and seafood are outstanding and the chef is highly talented....The wines are local and superb. Unreserved recommendation - eat here!More
