I live in Nerja most of the year and Ayo has a HUGE reputation to live up to. Always featured in the UK travel shows it is a packed an busy bustling place to enjoy a delicious Paella from a giant frying pan ! A must first all tourists on the stunning Burriana Beach and a Sunday family meeting for... More

this place is always on our 'to do' list whenever we're in Malaga. Never having had a bad experience here we couldn't wait to sit down and enjoy a big plate of freshly cooked Paella in a relaxing atmosphere. Sadly on this occasion this wasn't to be! Our party of four were given a very unwelcoming reception, almost as though... More

We ended up visiting 3 times on our trip and were never disappointed. Watching the paella being made is a novelty and even if you get the small plate (4.5 euros) they don't scrimp on seafood. Top tip, make like the locals and take your plate up for seconds. The house rose is cold and delicious, and if you go... More

We came for lunch - and were starving and were looking forward to some good paella. The food was about a 7.5/10. I've definitely had better paella, but this one was still really good, and we were sitting outside, in the sunshine, with the beach nearby - and had an overall great experience. Sadly, I saw after my plate was... More

Dropped in for lunch on a roasting hot October day: lovely hot paella served with an ice cold beer. Service fast and friendly servers and it's very interesting to watch the massive pans of paella being cooked. Those chefs must sweat! Thank you.

Slow and poor service. Waited to order waited for food waited for bill! Food was not authentic. Shells in it but nothing in them.small bones off the chicken. 1 small prawn. Very poor all round. Just glad that it wasn't too expensive. Wouldn't go again. There are much better places to eat in nerja. Sorry ayo.maybe it's got too big... More

We visited this restaurant after it was showcased on Rick Steve's show... I was hoping for some great paella on the beach. Instead, the paella was just - average. The service was also average, and the drinks were nothing to write home about. There are many "chiringuitos" such as this one on the beach... I suggest you try another one... More

I stopped by this beachfront chiringuito on a quiet march afternoon. One of the few (only?) cafes open on the burriana beach at this time. Was only going for a walk but the huge pan of paella attracted me to sit. Luckily they actually offered half , or 1 person portions which was nice. Simple decor, seats and tables in... More

Typical Spanish chiringito. Very busy, lots of atmosphere. The paella as always perfect but the huge bowls of salad and the Tuesday special of lamb and potatoes are truly amazing. Always good to watch the paella being made.

We had to try here- watched them making Paella for a week- visited on our last day for lunch. We had roast chicken- lamb baked on the charcoal and paella of coorse! Paella if great- lovely atmosphere, yes it is busy but service was very good.
