One meal was supposed to be Sea Bass risotto but was two tired pieces of Sea Bass on rice, with a few prawns - other meals had overcooked chips and fishy items, but staff were totally disinterested. However, the highlight of our visit was a nearby dog (in a restaurant?) who was given the owners plate, on the floor, to... More

Looked expensive, but very reasonably priced beer. Food looks good, excellent pub for an itinerant trucker needing refreshment after a long day! Parking nearby in ind. Est. 👻

£4.60 for a pint of Kopparberg? Outrageous. I thought the redeeming feature of these type of chain pubs was that they were cheap?! Won't be back.

Dropped in on our pub crawl to try out the beers. Not a great choice but one nice one from Hook Norton brewery Nice Try. Food seems to have gone Down the pan in recent time. Can't recommend eating here.

I have stayed at The Bear a few times recently, and will usually have one drink in the bar. I find it quite a pleasant place to have a drink. I have eaten once in the restaurant, the food was adequate but very cheap. The service is hit and miss, some staff are very helpful, others not so. The tables... More

Went in for a quick pint and was sorely disappointed! Boring choice of beers, it tries hard to have some charm and the bar is too small. You can feel it's geared up to serve food. The place is huge and is more of a hotel than a pleasant pub. You can feel it's a chain hotel.

Great menu choice and food was very good value for money. There is dedicated parking outside and is free at weekends.
