We were stuck in Hungerford on Bank Holiday weekend and most places were shut. We walked past The Swan Inn and saw some diners eating, in what looked like a very ordinary Hotel dining room. With nowhere else to go we thought we would try...More

Thank you four your kind remarks I'm glad the day went well. The Newbury Weekly News today 2nd of October gave you a very good article and I see that you had the National Mens and Womens Champions at the event. See you next year.

Our walking group of 12 had pre-booked and given our lunch orders prior to our walk. On our return we were promptly served our food and drinks. No complaints at all - friendly service, good food and clean toilets.

This review is in stark contrast to the 4th February reviewed by 12 walkers. I can only assume this reviewer arrived when the pub was closed in the afternoon and as a favour was let in and served by my farm worker who was in...More

Enjoyed good service but the food was less than memorable. The Fish and Chips was mediocre - the fish coating was mushy; the chips were decent. Would try some of other pubs/restaurants in town.

Always disappointing to have a poor review. Our beef leek & ale sausages are soft because of the ale and leeks but were cooked properly. The steak & Kidney pudding will collapse a little when properly cooked but it is very difficult to accept that...More

Description
Hungerfords Cygnet restaurant has grasped on to the idea of the organic movement with both hands and made a real success of combining sophisticated dining with eco-friendly ideals. For that real get-away-from-it-all experience Cygnet couldnt be better, offering a countryside idyll in the shape of a gorgeously executed barn conversion. Bare wood beams cut in to white washed walls while rustic accessories really add to that bucolic charm. The menu meanwhile is created seasonally using fine organic ingredients, many supplied by the restaurants own farm in Inkpen. Alongside traditional English dishes youll find more imaginative twists plucked from across the globe to be enjoyed with a bottle from the exclusively organic wine list.
