Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place is a hidden gem, small nice and cozy. I celebrated my 30th birthday and have been spoiled with some amazing dishes! I was blown away by the all the flavours I got from this 7 course meal 🤤 It’s the best meal I’ve...had so far and I have definitely not left the place feeling hungry!More

Exceptional food. Exceptional service. Would highly recommend! We had the nine course tasting menu and every course became my new favourite dish. I was blown away by the fact there is only one chef creating all of this artwork. Incredible.

So many things to enjoy about dining here, classical French cooking and menu, lively but genial atmosphere with a mature knowledgable clientele. A pleasure dining here on every occasion. The value for money is outstanding too.

We had the 7-course taster menu. The food was very good and a lovely dining experience. Would have benefited from some background music to create a bit of atmosphere as most tables were of couples speaking in low voices. Staff very attentive, perhaps a little...too keen to clear your plate as you had just finished your last mouth full. These are little things that would have made the experience 5 Star rather than 4 but should not stop people visiting for the food.More

As always, the food was first class. Perfectly cooked, and unique choices of dishes are on offer: none of the menus are of the standard, tedious, corporate kind. The ambience is quiet and unshowy, the service charming - and all at such a reasonable price....Our favourite restaurant for years. Long may it continue!More

Always a pleasure to eat here. Unlike its over-rated “starred” neighbours, the food is really good value and well presented. A lovely convivial atmosphere too, that feels like a classy restaurant, not a pub. Deservedly No 1 in the town. This experienced reviewer highly recommends...this restaurant to you.More

Yet another excellent meal. I have been going to this restaurant at least a couple of times a year since soon after it opened over twenty years ago. I have never had a poor course, let alone a poor - or even average - meal....It is incredibly consistent and incredible value - £25 for three courses on the set lunch menu and £45 for three courses on the à la carte menu. For some reason, other restaurants in Marlow get more hype - but it's a mystery to me why that is. Highly recommended.More

What a great find! There are 2 dinner menu choices - a 6 or 9 course - with optional wine pairing which was reasonably priced. The restaurant is small and only has c8-10 tables. The food was truly outstanding - the monkfish with truffle cauliflower...purée was my fave. The service was great (students from the local schools). They have the balance of creating a vibe that is relaxed but also feels special. It’s not one for people who want showy or a buzzy atmosphere.More

It is very easy to claim you have found a new favourite restaurant and then realise a couple of years later you haven't returned. Well I did return for lunch on Saturday and it was just as good as the first time. The mini bread...rolls were delicious and although the starters weren't to my particular taste they were still perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. My beef fillet was cooked exactly how I requested and was incredibly tender. The apple and currants pastry was also very tasty and brilliantly matched with clotted cream. The service was delightful and I have already booked return visits.More

Without a doubt the best meal I experienced during my week in London. And I chase good food whenever I travel! Attentive service, a solid wine list, and food that is both beautiful and of the highest quality. Not inexpensive, and reservations are a must,...but it was worth every pound. We chose the 7 course Savour the Experience menu. There was an amuse bouche as well, a small "espresso" shot of a rich wild mushroom broth that was simply amazing with the fresh bread provided. My companion has a dairy intolerance, and the kitchen had so issues preparing food to her requirements. We got both of the main options: a poached turbot and a beef filet, which we shared. I won't go into great detail on the various courses - each was simply amazing in presentation and flavour. Portion sizes were spot on, and neither of us felt over-full at the end of our 2 hour meal. Marlow is pretty small town, and we took advantage of the perfect weather to walk after dinner and take in the (lively) night life. Next time when I'm back in London for work, I will be returning to The Vanilla Pod.More

Wonderful lunch with friends. We chose from the fixed priced lunch menu, the food was delicious and beautifully presented. Couldn't fault it, along with reasonably priced wines from the house selection. I have being going to the Vanilla Pod for years and Michael continues to...work his magic in the kitchen, awesome - by far the best restaurant in Marlow.More

Book an early lunch...12.30 at the latest, then you should be able to park in the car park just past the restaurant on the left. Have been twice at that time with no problem
