We visited in November just after the new owners took over and received a warm welcome. We arrived mid morning on a Sunday to find it already busy with customers enjoying coffee or breakfast. The atmosphere was lovely. Hubby and I both opted for a bacon sandwich. We were informed that the ingredients were all locally sourced. The bacon was succulent delicious and cooked to perfection, the bread was gorgeous! The coffee was totally amazing - no bitter aftertaste which you often get with Barista coffee so an excellent choice of bean - I am a bit of a coffee ‘nerd’. I desperately wanted to try the Cassoulet on the menu which sounded wonderful but it was a little early in the day. Apart from the usual selection of cakes you can also buy wine to drink in or take home. The selection is great and priced to suit every pocket. I am delighted they are open weekend evenings too and made an instant decision to book into a local hotel and celebrate my birthday there in the summer. We live about 40 minutes away and will definitely be regular visitors. I can recommend ‘The Crossing Point’ without any hesitation whatsoever.

When John and Renata sold the Crossing Point Cafe, at the end of last year, it was hard to imagine a new owner keeping up the same high standard of food and service. However, not only have the new owners achieved this, they have managed to keep the menu the same, thanks to John and Renata generously sharing their recipes. You can even buy the same brand of Belfast Breakfast Tea, with your meal. There have been some changes, the wine list has grown and the cafe opens in the evenings at weekends now too. So it's business as usual at the The Crossing Point Cafe and you'll be sure of a warm welcome from Helen and her family.

We stopped at the Crossing Point Cafe in January 2020. The weather was very cold and we were looking for a nice lunch and cozy surroundings after visiting the town. We found the Crossing Point in the Market Square and having been made welcome by the staff there we had a lovely late lunch and some excellent tea (try the Tea Keepers Rooibos and Blood Orange! - Delicious). The meal was really good value for money and was served quickly and without fuss. A lovely place that we will gladly recommend and use again.

Two of us went in for a coffee and bowl of soup - waited 15 minutes for 2 coffees and then another ten minutes for our soup! We had half an hour before a hair appointment and thought we'd have plenty of time for a quick lunch. How wrong we were!! Nice soup but ended up rushing it. Also quite off putting seeing the bum crack of the guy who was making the coffee and helping to serve it.

😳 I take on board your comments regarding my clothing malfunction and apologise. Thank you for your comments regarding the quality of the food. Using quality fresh ingredients and cooking to order to ensure good food is our priority and as such we don’t advertise as a fast food establishment. We were also lucky enough to have the busiest weekend since opening which was quite unprecedented for a January but as a result it can take a little longer than we would like to get all the orders out. I’m sorry that on this occasion we were unable to meet your expectations but hope you will give us the opportunity to do so again in the future.

My husband has been shielding since March until yesterday so was understandably quite nervous going out for lunch for the first time in ages. We waited at the door to be shown to our table - we had booked in advance. As soon as we entered we were asked to sanitise our hands. I ordered beetroot hummus with goats cheese which was served with skinny fries, hubby couldn’t resist a fish finger sandwich again served with skinny fries. I had a glass of house white whilst hubby had a coffee - he was driving. The food was fabulous, the atmosphere great, and service superb. Above all else we felt safe. All precautions re Covid-19 have been taken. I really can recommend The Crossing Point without reservation.

Stopped off in Kirkby Lonsdale on our way home from a family day out. As it was after 3 p.m. we struggled to find anywhere serving hot food. We finally discovered the Crossing Point and received a warm welcome. After sanitising our hands as requested, we were soon enjoying delicious food from an interesting menu, which catered for vegan, vegetarian or meat eaters like ourselves. Local sausages on sourdough bread went down well as did my smoked salmon and poached egg kedgeree. The nine-years old with us said the homemade soup was the best she had ever had. The service was excellent and the all the staff were very friendly. Well worth a visit.

We were on a day trip and the menu caught our eye. We were not disappointed and enjoyed a delicious brunch. I had the full English breakfast with sourdough bread. The sausage and bacon were especially very tasty and high quality. They even did a child’s portion for my daughter. As a family we also had the veggie ciabatta and a sausage sandwich. The service was excellent and we were made to feel very welcome. Reassuringly we waited outside fur a table to become available and we sanitised hands on entering. We will definitely be returning.

Warm & oh so welcoming! We have always enjoyed our annual visits to the Crossing Point when in Kirkby Lonsdale. This year we were welcomed by one of the new owners who has a wonderful passion for what they do. The homemade soup (amazing Cauliflower & Hazelnut!) with sourdough bread followed by a delicious festive sandwich was a perfect end to a muddy walk. Definitely dog friendly, a bowl of water straight away with the offer of sausages too. The wine list is extensive & varied, staff are happy to point you in the right direction. Do not miss out a visit to the Crossing Point when in Kirkby Lonsdale.

Visited yesterday and what a treasure it was. The cafe was at the square in a great location. On entering we were greeted with a very warm friendly welcome. The decor was fresh, modern but still very quaint. The owners chatted happily away to us. The food was delicious all homemade and served on beautiful crockery. The soup was divine followed by with a cream tea with a warm homemade scone and clotted cream. No ordinary t bags here, loose tea served in a specialised tea pot. We didn't feel rushed at all, very pet friendly and genuine owners. Wish we stayed in the area as they are having a wine tasting evening with nibbles that we would of liked to attended, I believe they are going to start theme evening aswell. We wish them all the best and if anyone is in the area this is a little gem and really worth a visit. Thank you and all the best from the 2 Scottish sisters.

We were seated in two large velvet comfy chairs by a pleasant chap who then gave our lab retriever a treat. We polished off a piece of Vicky sponge, poppy seed orange cake and chocolate caramel slice, tea and coffee. All made by the owners it was light, moist with no sickly sweet after taste, excellent. Would definitely go back.

Came in here today and had two Sriracha chicken burgers with chips, two scones, and two drinks all for £37 which seems expensive but it was very well presented, very generous on portioning and it was also tasted amazing so it is definitely worth the price, not to mention it’s pet friendly and will give a free bowl of sausage to the dog. The staff are very professional and welcoming. The atmosphere is great. Very warm and cosy so great if you want to escape the cold for a while. Will definitely be back. This will be our new regular lunch spot for when we come back up here in the future. :) P.s. they seem to have a great collection of wines but didn’t get chance to have a nosy 🤣

Thank you so much for your review. We pride ourselves on our fresh quality produce so I'm so happy you enjoyed your meal. We absolutely love our doggy customers and we hope to welcome you back soon. You should definitely take some time to check out the wine shop, we also do monthly wine tastings if that's something you'd be interested in.

Our second visit to this cafe and a good place to visit. Unfortunately I felt mugged by the bill. At the time I paid up, but on closer inspection at home I was shocked by the price of the scones at £4.20 each. Is this a record for the north west or have London prices reached?!

A cooked English breakfast made with quality ingredients presented well. The room has a pleasing look and atmosphere. The staff are friendly and attentive and the service is quick, the prices are on the expensive side to folks like us. I have no problem recommending this establishment for a little treat whilst on your visit to Kirkby Lonsdale.

Lovely little cafe, nice relaxed atmosphere, very clean and adhering to all Covid regulations, with an extensive food and drink menu. The food was delicious, fresh and hot, and all staff were friendly and welcoming, everything was served with a smile. There is also a wine shop at the back of the café and the staff are very knowledgeable and able to make recommendations. Highly recommend and will be back, thank you!

My friend and I where very wet from a walk down the river on a soggy May Friday, we were met at the door by a cheerful chap who showed us in, what a lovely friendly cafe with top class food and a great day time menu. Something for everyone. The wine looked amazing too, but had to drive, had a coffee instead it did not disappoint. Will return soon. Top Class, made a wet day very 🌞.
