Just had a few days break here and it was lovely.. So quiet and peaceful. The room was comfortable, great views. The staff were very friendly and the food was fantastic..great breakfasts and hearty home cooked meals.

Lovely food served in friendly, comfortable bar. Great outdoor space if weather is good. Fairly extensive menu supplemented by daily specials.

We went to this pub twice and on both occasions had lovely meals which were good value. There was a lovely atmosphere and the staff seemed to genuinely like dogs at the pub.

Had a family supper here recently. 8 adults & 4 kids ate a good, home cooked, meal. I would highly recommend it, although if I were to return I'd eat in the bar instead of the restaurant because the atmosphere's better

We wanted a couple of days away from it all. The Fat Lamb was just the place. Very peaceful and relaxing in a beautiful part of Cumbria. Away from crowds and traffic with good walks through the countryside. Food was excellent, and the menus offered good choice. The staff were excellent too, nothing too much trouble. The accommodation was dated... More

...would be able to cook a lamb shank. Alas, this is not the case. Two out of five of us ordered it, both came out completely overcooked, and the kind of nuclear temperature that you only get from microwaving something to reheat it. Queried it with the lady serving us, who in fairness offered something else - but all our... More

This is an excellent country pub in a spectacular setting on the moors between Sedburgh and Kirkby Stephen. Friendly and helpful staff and a range of high quality food. I started with the three salmon: fish cake, smoked salmon and gravadlax, which were plentiful and very tasty, before moving on to one of the specials, a delicious portion of belly... More

We took advantage of a special offer from living social, 2 night b&b and was a little shocked on arrival at how remote this place was , but what a little gem it turned out to be. The location, as it turned out was ideal , just a short drive to a number of locations, we had a couple of... More

We found this restaurant/Inn on Amazon for a midweek break and were not dissapointed. The staff were helpful and friendly during our stay, our room although basic was very comfortable and clean. The food was very good and well presented. It does have outside seating but they do have a warning notice to watch the free range hens.

I ate here with a hen party of 17 and all 17 ladies left full and happy. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was VERY nice and the location is fantastic. If I'm ever in this neck of the woods again, I will definitely go back!
