Tipsy Teapot is located in a quiet part of King's Lynn main shopping area. A few shops nearby have disappeared with windows boarded up but that's normal in shopping centres nowadays. However, we noticed that many people are still walking past the restaurant.
When you step inside, the interior will surprise you. It is different from that of many of the standard restaurants. It is cosy, relaxing and feels warm. It is spacious as the tables are not too close to each other.
Jasmin looked after us. Like many waitresses, she was welcoming and charming but she was much more than that. She is a true professional and looked after us in a way that few can do.
One of us has an allergy and Jasmin and the chef produced a meal that was not only completely safe, it was absolutely delicious. The rump steak for example was a triumph, it was tender and cooked perfectly.
The only comment we would like to make - only as advice - is that it might be an idea to make the outside area of the Tipsy Teapot slightly more attractive. Make it stand out more in this quiet area.
Tipsy Teapot served a delicious meal, delivered excellent service and all that for a very reasonable price.
Highly recommend.

What a lucky find! Came here with 2 other couples and we had a most enjoyable evening. The staff were absolutely lovely to our group of retired friends meeting for our annual reunion and we had great fun. What a lovely surprise when our mocktails arrived with a huge bubble on top! There was a good choice for our vegetarian friend who was delighted with her choice of halloumi skewer and everything was imaginatively presented, tasty and reasonably priced. The decor was fun and the toilet roomy and clean. Wish this place was in my home town!

I recently visited the Tipsy Teapot for lunch and had a fantastic experience. The decor is absolutely lovely – super cozy and Instagrammable, with colorful touches and quirky details that create a fun, relaxed atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even more enjoyable.
The food was delicious, with a variety of tasty options that were reasonably priced, offering great value for the quality. I also couldn’t resist trying their cocktails, which were flavorful and well-crafted – perfect for a midday treat!
Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a charming, budget-friendly lunch with a side of fun!

Afternoon Tea for 2 - you're advised on sitting down that you only get 1 free drink with the Afternoon Tea. Unfortunately the pot of tea came up before the food. So we did end up ordering another pot (£5.50), to finish the food. Would have made a better impression if the tea was free, especially considering the low cost to make.
You get 2 rounds of sandwiches, 1 fruit scone with jam/cream and 3 mini sized cakes each. Found the balance of sandwiches to cakes different to other Tea's I've had. Sandwiches were a bit slapdash. Some crusts left on, hardly any cheese in the cheese & caramelised onion. But loads of filling in the coronation chicken. Jam/cream portion just about adequate.
Staff were very friendly and we were offered takeaway boxes, which we needed.
Would not go for Afternoon Tea again. But might try the cocktails.

Not really impressed, waited 30 minutes for the food to arrive and the tapas just wasn't nice nor worth it to me.. I've been feeling nauseous since we left.
When you hear bacon and onion doughnuts as weird of a combination that is, you think doughnuts with bits of onion and bacon.. ( to me anyway) no it was 2 onion rings with a piece of bacon wrapped round.. litterly 2 very small onion rings with bacon wrapped round £4.95
The pork belly had this weird tomato ketchup sauce that wasn't nice and it was laced in it so couldn't eat it,
3 " king prawns" that's 3 small little prawns on a tooth pick with a pinch of yesterday's left over salad again £4.95
My friend ordered a burger and the inside of the bun was all burnt she had to use my cheese sauce to cover the burnt taste..
For 3 meals and 3 cokes it was £63.. I don't think we will be ever coming back..
The Waitresses were very nice and welcoming and the decor in the restaurant is very nice and cozy.

Thankyou for your review and I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your visit. The hype? I'm not sure what that means, maybe friends have said what a great time they've had or you've read positive reviews, not sure. You haven't said when you visited but I cannot only assume it was extremely busy if you had to wait for your food to arrive. Bacon and onion donuts are a way of describing the visual of the item- they aren't actually sweet donuts with bits of onion and bacon in them, likewise our biscoff and Nutella lasagne doesn't actually contain pasta or mince. The vibe of tipsy teapot is doing things in an unexpected way such as cocktails in teapots, it's kind of our thing. The 'weird tomato ketchup sauce' with the pork belly is BBQ sauce- as stated on the menu. The tapas dishes are designed to be flexible to be ordered as individual starters (at 4.95) or as sides or in groups of 3 as a light meal for 1 (discounted to £13.50) or 6 as a sharer for 2 people at £25. So actually rather good value when you consider other restaurants charge at least £6 for a single starter of the same size as each of our tapas dishes.
The only burger that has the cheese sauce is the fondu burger at 16.50 which is a double burger with cheese & bacon and a well of cheese sauce in the centre of the bun lid- designed for chip dipping. In that price are chips and coleslaw. You haven't stated what the 3rd meal was but pints of coke are £3.15 each so even with our tapas trees stand of 6 tapas at £25 (a sharer for 2 people), the most expensive burger on the menu at £16.50 and the 3 cokes, there must have been others items you've forgotten in order for it to come to £63. I respect and appreciate that you prefer not to come back, not everyone 'gets' nor appreciates the quirkiness of the brand but I am grateful that you enjoyed the atmosphere, our efforts in our decor and the service you received.

Went here tonight with my partner and four friends to celebrate my partner’s birthday. My girlfriend and I arrived last and ordered a cocktail each. We were sat there for about fifteen minutes before the drinks arrived but in fairness they were both lovely!! Eventually a waitress arrived to take all of our food orders. We waited and we waited and somewhere in the region of forty five minutes came and went before the our food arrived! Upon its arrival every member of the party all said the same thing, the food was cold!! All bar one member of the party which led me to think everyone else’s food was sat in the window whilst his was being cooked. At no point did any member of staff ask us how our food was and at this point we were the only ones in there. Once the food was done the empty plates sat there for about half an hour with us all sat there waiting to be asked if we wanted desserts. Eventually the very friendly barman told us he was calling last orders and we then asked for the bill. We paid the bill eventually after the barman deleted our entire tab and had to put the whole lot back on again. We went and got desserts elsewhere because we weren’t willing to wait any longer. The place has an amazing theme and I want to fall in love with the place but sadly based on this experience they are making it very hard to do that!!

Went to the Tipsy Teapot for my daughter’s hen party. Food was good until they came out with the wrong meal for one of our party and because she wanted to eat with us all she accepted the meal which turned out to be really dry. When I complained about this they said they would give her a free dessert. As it was she had some of the other food so she did not want a dessert - we were then told they had taken a dessert off the price. When we told them she had not had a dessert they were a bit funny about it and eventually took the cost of the meal off the total.
They we went upstairs to the music which was great. When we asked for a particular record as it meant so much to the group we were told they couldn’t play it as people couldn’t dance to it and it would be played much later.
We went back at 10.30 and asked for the song again and were told no. We explained that we were being picked up at 11.00 and were told “sorry that’s not my problem”!!!!
I was discussing it with one of the group when leaving the venue when the manageress indignantly said “ they have a play list and they have to stick to it”. Was not impressed and told her that the experience had left a bitter taste in my mouth and that I would be putting a review on here and she said “oh well”
Not great for a first and last visit!!!

Mrs Tipsy
Hi there, thankyou for your review of your evening. I appreciate and respect that this is how you felt the evening went although this is a little different from the perspective of our team. We agree on the fact that it all started well with everyone enjoying drinks in the restaurant.
The server took the food order, some had starters of our tapas and some didn't, some had mains from the tapas and others had burgers, skewers, frachos etc. the starters all came out and were enjoyed, the mains were delivered by a different server who mistakenly brought out a halloumi burger that was actually supposed to go to a different table, when no-one said the burger was theirs (quite rightly) she brought it back to the pass, double checked the tickets and realised her mistake. She continued to deliver the remaining meals to your table but noticed that one lady didn't have a meal Infront of her. She spoke to the lady, who said she'd ordered an halloumi skewer. We checked the order and found no halloumi skewer on it. The server who had originally taken the order had not heard anyone asking for an halloumi skewer and had thought that the lady was actually sharing the mixed tapas dishes that had been ordered with her friend. We immediately apologised and assured the lady that the skewer would be made for her however she requested to have the halloumi burger returned to her instead. As requested, we did this, despite it actually being meant for another table.
When the meal was finished, you approached me and said that the lady hadn't been able to eat the burger at all as it was too dry, and to be honest, I can't remember the exact words but you also implied that we'd left the lady no choice but to have the burger, which wasn't the case at all, as we'd been apologetic for the skewer not being on the order and said that it would be made immediately - the lady asked for the burger to be brought back to her and we'd complied with the request. During the conversation, I offered to have something else made for the lady, or a drink and you asked for a free dessert as some of the group wanted desserts to which I responded that it was no problem and we'd do that.
I cleared the plates personally and noticed a 1/4 of the offending burger had been left with the rest eaten, however when the orders for the desserts came through, I took one off the bill straight away.
When it came to paying it seems the bill was split into various sized groups with splits being made between tapas deals, main meals etc rather than individuals paying for what they had or the bill being split equally between the group. Our manager (who was aware that I had removed a dessert, prior to leaving the restaurant to work in the upstairs floor) correctly advised that a dessert had been removed as per your request. When you then stated that the lady herself hadn't ordered a dessert, it was, quite honestly, easier to simply remove the cost of her meal in order to continue with the night.
When you were upstairs, the DJ reports that a request was made for 'sweet Caroline' during his party music set. He responded that he couldn't play it at that time as the set he was playing had everyone up dancing and it wouldn't fit with the vibe. He did say that he would play it later (which he does in the latter part of the night when people are more open to belting out the chorus). He reports that the person was disgruntled and rude and returned again and hour or so later during the Ibiza set to ask for the song as the group were going home at 11. Again he replied that it would be played later when it would fit with the progression of the room. When creating a party atmosphere, you watch how to room responds en- masse to a type of music and go with what gets everyone going. To introduce a completely different track during a set containing tracks along the lines of 'insomnia' would kill the vibe for the rest of the guests, even if the requester was leaving early.
As you were leaving our venue, I happened to be standing at the foot of the stairs holding the door open for your group as they came down, only to hear you angrily rage at your friend how awful it was and that you'd only asked for 1 song whilst waving your finger in the air. I tried to explain that there is a tried and tested set playlist that gets people up and dancing however you continued to walk away without allowing me to finish the sentence that, in fact, the very song you requested gets played after the Ibiza set when everyone is too shattered to dance and we have singing tracks like 'livin on a prayer', 'sweet Caroline' etc. Over your shoulder you shouted that you would be leaving a review, to which I did indeed respond 'oh well' as it was very apparent that despite trying to make amends for an initial genuine order error, you were determined to find fault somewhere. Incidentally, CCTV shows the rest of the group having a lovely time all night and everyone else was extremely polite and a pleasure to serve.

went for Mother’s Day today, everyone was very excited as been before with they’re regular menu and loved it. They had two time slots 12 & 2 so everybody for the 12pm sitting waited for it open, when we finally got in, our afternoon tea was already on the table for us, and instant feeling of disappointed came over all of us, after seeing the pictures on the website we were extremely disappointed. 3 plates of sandwiches, 1 savoury and a mini sweet plate for 6 people, the sandwiches were enough however too many, it lacked the uniqueness that the decor throughout the rest had it was a shame.

Hi there, I've responded to your mum's review above however I'll respond to yours as well even though it's for the same booking. We open at 12pm every day and at 12pm we opened our doors. We had placed the chandelier stand holding your afternoon tea on your table at 11.58 so 'when we finally got in' implies you had been waiting a long time, which is not the case.
You say you love our venue yet didn't relay any disappointment when asked if everything was good, can we get you anything else during multiple checkbacks from all our team including myself. In terms of lacking uniqueness, i must disagree as serving our afternoon teas on chandeliers and candelabras and adding fun sweeties to the petit fours as well as little lace cups made from parmesan cheese and sausage pinwheels, serving cocktails in teapots is fairly unique however I respect the fact that everyone is different and you feel you didn't enjoy it.

How do you get to wonderland you ask? Well it starts by driving to Kingslynn! I was very pleasantly surprised to have fallen down this rabbit hole and finding the Tipsy Teapot! As a massive lover of afternoon tea and known as the afternoon Queen at other establishments I was anticipating good things!
Our server Dom was brilliant he really added to the outrageousness at how bubbly he was towards us and really made us feel welcoming with lots of laughs by all! As a surprise visit for my 30th it was lovely to be taken somewhere different! The only thing which could need a little tweaking is explaining how your afternoon teas work, I appreciate sandwiches, cakes and scones! But i treat it as an experience and as I hadn't looked at the menu I had no idea what had been brought out to us on the fabulous chandelier!
The food arrived swiftly, followed by some amazing cocktails and a recommended mocktail by Dom for my pregnant friend who is due very soon! It was lovely how he also involved baby bump within our conversations!
The mismatch of tea cups, saucers and teapots added to the decor! The food itself was wonderful, we all commented on how soft the bread was, the fullness of sandwich filling and how fresh the food tasted! Noone likes a stale sandwich!!
The fruit scones also were a delight to demolish, and the selection of sweet treats were equally as mouthwatering!
Overall atmosphere was lovely, there was a big party opposite us but everyone was laughing and enjoying themselves which was great to hear!
The owner has really thought of everything to the little details in the handmade sofa cushions to the giant flamingo you are greeted with before going to the fabulously decorated bathrooms!
I definitely see the hype and will be returning in the furture! Thank you all for the truly 'wonderful' experience at the Tipsy Teapot! ♡

Oh wow! Thankyou so very much, we're all so happy you had a great time with us! Doms enthusiasm and energy is an asset to the team, who are all a fabulous bunch that we are lucky to have with us. It's heartwarming to hear you 'got' what tipsy is about- the little details, the big details and everything that goes into creating an experience that is more than just a meal out. Thankyou so much for visiting, it really does mean the world to the entire tipsy team! Thankyou x

What a fabulous and fun place this is serving great food with a really friendly happy team.
The decor is amazing and love the fact that the owners have created everything themselves.
Food and drinks are excellent value and there’s a really great choice and something for everyone.
The afternoon tea looked deliciously and love that it is served on old chandeliers.
A great independent business

Went for lunch with my wife and two kids.
The menu is very appealing but it was an early lunch so opted to try out the sandwich line.
I went for the Philly cheesesteak wrap.
I asked to have skin on fries, for me the fries are lovely but what they don’t seem to tell you (anywhere obviously) is that they are covered in spices etc. so neither my kids or my wife really liked them. The fish goujon and chicken tenders sandwiches were both very thrown together and just felt like a lack of love shown to them.
I was asked if I wanted nacho cheese sauce, peppercorn or Stilton sauce with my wrap. I had not noticed this on the menu but assumed as I had ordered a Philly cheesesteak wrap that when I said I would have the nacho cheese sauce assuming it would be in the wrap but it came in a tea cup on the side which was far too deep for me to have been able to dip the wrap in it.
Also when you order something like this you know it’s going to be the lowest quality steak, which is absolutely fine but that means that the steak needs to be sliced really thin so it’s not a bunch of chewy gristly lumps and making it a wholly unpleasant to eat.
I have no doubt if we go back again and I try one of the burgers or some of the mix and match options they will be very nice but the sandwich line was a big miss

We really loved the quirky ambience, the staff were friendly and we loved the food. My husband had the Philly steak wrap, very well cooked served with a jug of cheese sauce and I had the tequila lime prawn wrap with a gorgeous mango, lime and chilli sauce. The atmosphere was fun and we look forward to visiting again soon

We chose this place straight off the internet as we were in search of Tapas. On arrival, we found a quirky, interesting & welcoming venue, with excellent food, fab cocktails - I had Long Island Iced tea - served in a teapot! Dont know why I was surprised, should have realised by the restaurants name, and I’m definitely going to try that at home. We were also there on a Thursday, when they have an excellent magician, who comes to your table, does great magic tricks but we really couldn’t tell how he did them. Highly recommended, oh, and they don’t just do tapas, they have a good selection of other food’s available too, as well as a decent looking dessert menu, we just couldn’t eat anything else, as we were too full.

The afternoon tea needed bigger cakes, fresh scones and more variety for the sarnies. We also weren't asked if everything was okay.
The tea was nice, and coffee too. Wouldn't rush back.
