Our normal restaurant was closed and as we walked past The Basement it looked inviting. Despite being a largely glass prefabricated building and a chilly day, it was toasty warm. Varied menu and we both chose the Sea Trout fish stew. Swiftly served in a...More

We have tried to message you but it seems you don’t look at your messages on TA! We have been having issues with the perception of a carbonara and how it should be served. We have tried to be as authentic as we possibly can...More

Just fabulous full Cornish breakfast! The Basement beans are incredible and we all loved the round sausage. Sourdough was fresh and tasty. All in all the perfect way to start a Saturday! Thank you.

The food was good and the service excellent. The staff took trouble to also ensure a taxi was ordered, when we struggled to order.

We visit The Basement every time we go to Padstow and have never been disapointed. The food is fantastic and the atmosphere is always buzzing. Its a great addition to Padstow and the views of the harbour are top notch.

Amazing food, scallops to start were lovely then the steak for main was perfect. My wife had the fish curry which was also lovely. Definitely recommend this place and the pod outside was also very comfortable. Also the service was faultless.
