I can only reiterate what other reviewers have commented. I visited the tearoom with my partner, my daughter and son-in-law for an impromptu meal after viewing property in the village (My daughter and her husband are looking to move there soon). As we arrived quite late on a Saturday we weren't sure if we would find anywhere to eat, but... More

My wife and I popped into the Gateway driving through the town. The welcome was warm and friendly. The place is spotlessly clean, especially the toilets. We had scones which are home made on the premises. Their produce is locally sourced wherever possible. A great place to visit.

The Gateway Tea Room is truly a wonderful traditional tea room experience with superb fresh and delicious food. You step through the door into a tea room as they used to be, each table is adorned with embroidered table cloths, lace doilies and a vase of flowers. The room has a few dressers where all the vintage crockery and beautiful... More

Antique furnishings in an old building, with traditional China, a real throwback. Luckily, the tea and cakes were new and fresh. Great.

We just popped in for an excellent coffee and were struck by the friendly and prompt service that the owners gave us. Spotlessly clean and comfortable, We were not hungry enough to try the fantastic selection of home made cakes - thoroughly recommended!

this was just like something out of Enid Blyton ...... We had travelled across Dartmoor on our way home and were looking for a cup of tea and wow ! What a lovely little place this was. A proper English tea room with authentic china and cutlery, table cloths and even an ancient cuckoo clock (who was only a couple... More

This was the first time we've visited since the new owners took over last year. It is amazing! The food is excellent (don't miss the fudge cake!), but the real charm is the service. Laurie and Sam were so welcoming and the surroundings are so comfortable and charming. This will definitely be a place we recommend to everyone who visits!

This was one of the most charming, quaint, tea rooms we have ever visited. Treat yourselves and pay a visit if you are in the area. The attention to customer satisfaction is ever present and that coupled with quality of the drink and food offered makes this tea room a real exceptional.

I have to say this place is everything you expect and want a tea room to be. It has great food (sandwiches, paninis, jacket potatoes etc) a good selection of teas and coffee, home made cakes and scones and breakfast options too. It is all served on/in vintage crockery which is just so lovely. The owners clearly pay a lot... More
