This is my must go snack stop every time I come to Lyme. The family that run it make everything from scratch themselves and even though I don’t go lots the barista remembers my order from one month to the next, I have never found a better iced oat milk coffee, 10/10. My usual order if whole hog bap and raspberry doughnut. Every bite is orgasmic, be careful to eat it away from the gulls. I sat on a bench and the bap was 6 inches too far from my mouth and a gull swooped down, TRUE STORY, I ATE IT ANYWAY, I’m not driving an hour and a half salivating the whole journey and letting a bird spoil my day! Thank you for always being so fab and the best at what you do. Love you guys x

We ate at The Whole Hog during a stay with our friends in sunny Dorset for New Years Eve. We visit Dorset 2 or 3 times a year but have not had a Hog Roast 'cob' (sorry for the northern language) in Lyme for a couple of years (our loss). Having been regular customers to The Whole Hog in previous guises over the past 10 years we were more than happy to find that the standard has gone from excellent to out of this world.
The service was as friendly as ever, the wait was minimal (even with a decent queue) and the price was more than reasonable for what is effectively half a roast dinner in a cob/roll/sandwich/bap.
The staff were even kind enough to pop some donuts behind the counter for us to devour later. As with the Hog Roast, these were incredible.
We look forward to our next visit.

We ordered a bap and a box of six doughnuts. The bap was lovely however I think the doughnuts are a bit overhyped and especially for the price. The filling was nice however the doughnut itself was a bit dry.

Thank you for your review Mike. Doughnuts are made fresh onsite and best eaten before the day is out and obviously at their best first thing. At least one of us eats a doughnut everyday to taste test if we thought the dough was dry we would not sell them that day we take a lot of pride in our produce. Glad you enjoyed the bap ❤️

As a regular consumer of their excellent if slightly spendy doughnuts, I opted for the hog roast roll. I received a weighty bundle that seemingly contained almost an entire meal. Gorgeous pork, plenty of crackling, apple sauce and the perfect accompaniment for a walk to Charton Bay.

We love Lyme Regis, and even more so with this slightly hidden gem!
Can be a little tricky to get your order in, but don’t let this stop you, it’s well worth it.
If you are like us and love finding unique independent cafes, and want to make sure that what you are spending is worth the money, then I couldn’t recommend this place highly enough. The customer service is personable and friendly, and they can’t do enough to make sure that your experience matches the amazing food.
Plus, the coffee is 👌🏼 and conversation fascinating about the building and the business.
Keep up the good work and see you next time.

We visited twice on a four day family holiday, once for donuts and then back for more donuts, coffee and the pork bap…the pork bap was absolutely delicious; my partner and I shared one but I could have easily eaten the whole thing, the home made apple sauce is something else and with the cracking and stuffing, it was just amazing! The donuts are equally as delicious, we pre ordered some to take home with us! The
honey comb was a firm fave! Lovely coffee too - if you’re in Lyme Regis I would highly recommend visiting!

Easily the best coffee in Dorset. A very small and charming established by a couple with eternally radiant smiles and a real love for what they do. The barista (the owners son) has dialled his art to perfection.
The food is all sourced locally and made in house. The doughnuts are insane, I’d recommend the vegan ones although they are all good - if you get there early enough they’ll still Be warm. There’s a few savoury options I’ve only had the chicken and stuffing bap, which was filling and like everything else here delicious. Certainly beats the over abundance of pasties.
I can’t recommend this place enough. But don’t take my word for it go see for yourself.

What can I say that hasn't been covered already?
Firstly the food is quite exceptional which should come as no surprise given the attention to detail that has gone into everything.
The pork is slow cooked for 20 hour resulting in the most delicious succulent meat your're likely to taste. To call it a pork roll sounds like an understatement/insult because everything from the apple sauce to the crackling is cooked to perfection.
The gravy isn't really gravy, it's more a thick 'jus' which provides the perfect accompaniment to the stuffing and dish itself.
The fresh doughnuts are a delight and the coffee is the best you'll ever taste but this is no surprise because the finest ingredients are sought for everything else so why should the coffee beans be any different?
Normally packaging means nothing but in this instance it's an insight into the mindset behind The Whole Hog. Nothing is done on the cheap here and it felt almost criminal throwing the doughnut box away and the napkins are better quality than my beach towel 😂.
In all seriousness it's a family business of outstanding quality. There are many good food outlets in Lyme but this is the best which is why they sell out early every day.

When my partner came in contact with with the business owners due to a skateboarding accident to one of their sons we thought we would take a trip down the road to Lyme Regis to try it out as we didn’t hear about them beforehand. Once we found it, safe to say it was honestly the best food we have tasted. I think to call it Just a pulled pork bap is an understatement. The fact they cater for other eaters with chicken and pulled Jack fruit is a great touch. We also tried the freshly made doughnuts and coffee that day. After finally getting through all of the food we then decided to share with family members and tell them that they would cater for our wedding 6 months later.
The food was as expected if not better, the service for two gents in the kitchen to get 35 rolls out was exceptional as every roll was a mirror image.
If you are down Dorset we would highly recommend taking a trip to the whole hog down in Lyme Regis. Don’t be fulled by the hatch in the wall, this place is the real deal. Coffee and a fresh Donut, pulled pork bap and all the trimmings or all of it. You will not be disappointed!
We’d also like to thank the family for taking care of the catering side of things for our wedding. You had a huge part to play in our fantastic day. See you soon!

Honestly the best hog roast bun I've ever had. So delicious! The doughnuts were absolutely amazing, too. We went at around 1.30pm on a very rainy, windy day and got the last 3 doughnuts so I'd recommend going earlier! The staff were very friendly and the hole in the wall style of the shop is fun! The only downside I would say is the shop front is right on an often busy road with a very thin pavement to wait on - but that's hardly their fault! And totally worth it for the amazing food!

They say a picture says a thousand words well just look at the pure joy on my daughters face. I opted for a plain one with my coffee. Coffee was so smooth the doughnut made the perfect combination to tantalise my taste buds pure heaven. For me to say that is something as my grandparents were bakers so i have had a few doughnuts over the years. Can’t wait to sample a filled one next time. My daughter will forever be the Nutella Whole Hog doughnut number one fan. Great local food and service from people who care about the quality of what they serve. Keep it up can’t wait until next time.

We are back in Lyme for our annual holiday and one of our first treats is a visit to the Whole Hog for coffee and donuts. It’s an incredible friendly family run business just set back from the beach that takes food and coffee very seriously. The coffee is expertly made by Bayley who discusses the bean and roast with you and I get sea and Lyme updates from everyone else. The coffee is incredible! Best in Lyme and I have sampled everywhere. Nothing beats grabbing a morning coffee made by Bayley at the Hog then sitting on the beach enjoying the view- holiday bliss

We have just come back from being on holiday in Lyme Regis for the week during May half term. If you are looking for a great coffee every morning then look no further than whole hog, I highly recommend the biscoff latte. They also make fresh doughnuts every day, and If you get there early enough you may be lucky to grab yourself a beautiful warm jam doughnut ( perfect breakfast on your way to the beach). If your more of a savoury person then you have to give there hog roast rolls a go, they’re filled to the brim with pork, crackling, stuffing along with an amazing homemade apple sauce and gravy! And if incredible food and drink isn’t enough, it’s all served with a smile by a wonderful family who are more than happy to go out of their way for you and offer recommendations. All In all if you’re visiting Lyme Regis you HAVE to check this little place out! Thankyou whole hog!!!

We ordered four pork sandwiches which were made to order - my daughter didn’t want apple sauce on or onions and my son didn’t want apple sauce. The pork sandwich was large, deliciously filled with ample amounts of tender meat, onions, gravy, crunchy crackling, stuffing and apple sauce. The staff were friendly and managed the queue of customers well. The Whole Hog is somewhere we always return again and again on our summer holidays to Lyme Regis and they never disappoint. Highly recommended for a lunchtime treat.
