This pub is fantastic from the outside and the inside doesn't let you down, having great character and friendly staff. In my opinion the food is slightly overpriced, £11 for sausage mash peas and gravy is a little steep, £8.50 was more its worth, there was nothing wrong with it, the sausages were tasty and the mash nice and smooth,... Stayed in Pleasant Cottage Corscombe just up the hill. A friend recommended this pub, I trust his judgment and he did not disappoint. The landlord Shane is a great host, friendly locals are abundant and Maria and her team behind the scenes produce great food from the kitchen. Very reasonably priced and just how pubs should be, I cannot recommend... More

Decided to visit this pub again after years when it was closed for a birthday Sunday lunch. Lovely interior, bustling and lovely atmosphere with warm log fires. Warm in the nicely decorated conservatory while tables were full but they must have forgotten to keep the heating on there later on as it was then freezing in there! Food was tasty... More

We moved into the village 2015 and have paid a few visit mainly in the day time and the welcome has always been with a smile. The cider is always my first option and is delicious. It's lovely to sit across the road and watch the activities of a traditional country community, there's also a small stream the kids like... More

Went to The Fox with friends for dinner. I had hake in batter and it was the best piece of fried fish I have had in a long time - moist but not over cooked. Service was friendly and prompt. Waiting time for food was good considering the pub was busy. I would say our main course arrived in probably... More

You'll see from my other reviews that I am quite fussy. I like good service, a pleasant environment, great atmosphere and of course from a pub, hearty food and drink. We were staying locally for three nights and stumbled across this pub, literally. It's in a quaint little hamlet blessed with the friendliest most welcoming locals you could ever hope... More

We've made the trek out to the Fox a few times now and the welcome has always been warm. What more could you wish for? A good pint, smiling faces and food should you wish. A real taste of a traditional British pub...love it.

What a great find, this is the quintessential English rural village pub hidden away in the valley. It is well signposted and the pub stands proud offset from the road. The smell of an open fire, great ale and a warm welcome greets you as you come in through the door. Lovely atmosphere and we were accommodated even though we... More

Recommended to us by Kim Thomas whose caravan site we were staying at on Kitwhistle farm. We arrived at 6.10pm on a Sat evening - early for food - but were welcomed and accommodated immediately even though they were fully booked all night! A warm welcoming rural pub; food was tasty home cooked fayer and service very friendly. Would recommend... More

The Fox is a character village pub with a good selection of beers and great food be it for a meal for 2 or a large get together. The pub has a great atmosphere and very welcoming, helpful and friendly staff.
