We’ve just had the most wonderful lunch at Williams today to celebrate our fathers birthday. The food was out of this world, the fish beautifully cooked, fresh as can be and served by a friendly professional team. The atmosphere was busy and fun, and the restaurant was pretty much full, which is impressive for a Wednesday lunchtime in January! We will definitely be back. Thank you!

At last we were able to return for lunch at Williams! Oh how we had missed the excellent food and service that is on offer. Of course we were obliged to have a table outside, which can be a bit blighted by the constant traffic noise. On the other hand that is a small price to pay! The lunch for six, on a birthday, was enjoyed by all, choosing from a surprisingly extensive menu. Between us we sampled, crab soup, fish soup, scallops, ham hock terrine, John Dory, fillet steak and fish and chips: the plates were washed down with an Albarino and house red wine, at sensible prices, and £40 per head seemed reasonable given the quality of food and service: working outside puts extra pressure on staff, who were friendly, timely, and attentive. Blankets are available for when there is a chill in the air, and I am sure everyone is looking forward to the return to being inside from May17 2021

This excellent deli used to serve food at a few tables at the back. Now following refurbishment it is more of a restaurant with a deli. Sea food remains the speciality and we enjoyed a really delicious - and good value - dinner there with friends.

We recently visited Williams Food Hall, early August, the food was really good if you like child portions and dont mind paying extortionate prices, £20 for a one giant prawn starter and a mini skate for main, I have never seen a smaller skate, even our local fish and chip serve larger. We booked an outside table which was covered in leaves when we arrived and which we cleaned ourselves, and the table service was horrendous, the grey haired lady leant across me to collect plates giving me several armpit moments and stacked plates directly in front of me, there was also no exterior lighting we had to use a torch to see the bill, there were eleven of us including three kids and our bill was £347 unbelievable. Anyway to summarise, very small portions, very very expensive, very poor table service and not very nice outside experience, give this place a miss.

We had high hopes for the quality of food that would be on offer here at Williams Food Hall, however I have to say we were let down. The food was good, but at around £20 for a main course I would expect something outstanding. I think they are trying to be a 'high class' restaurant when really they are creating posh pub food. The spicy crab soup was thrown in a bowl with no effort at presentation. Charging £20 for crab which is accompanied by fries should be criminal. Having said this the monkfish was still very tasty. Unfortunately the service was also a let down, we had to ask for drinks and we were not offered any side plates to go with the bread, in fact we found ourselves having to flag down a member of staff whenever we wanted anything. Sad to say we will not be returning again in the near future.

A two week turn around closure seemed ambitious for the shop and restaurant, but it was achieved earlier this year, and the results are very favourable. The menu is largely as before, new staff are coureous and efficient, and the cooking of our dishes was excellent. We tried the plaice goujons, fish soup, crab croquettes as starters, then Sea Bass, Sole and Halibut as mains - all were fully appreciated. Since my last review there has been some re-furbishment of the bathrooms, but the difficulty of getting there remains a problem for those with mobility limitations, who are therfore unlikely to be able to manage a visit to this excellent restaurant. Careless service meant that we had to draw attention to the absence of wine on our bill - honesty being the best policy!

This is one of our favourite restaurants. We only get ti visit when we manage to get tickets to the local football team, but as a pre match meal it is probably a bit above the normal pie and chips! Excellent service always. A great menu selection, although we always seem to go for the scallops as starter, and are tempted to have them for main too, they are that good. If you find a piece of fish in the attached fishmonger section, that is not on the menu, they will happily cook it for you. The fish and chips is so light and flaky. Excellent light batter. Sometimes we switch the fries for mash, they are very accommodating. Great choice of wines too. Not overly expensive, and well worth the money.

Discovering Williams was the best thing I have done for ages . To call it outstanding is an under statement . It is superb in every way. From the minute you walk in to the moment you reluctantly have to leave is divine . The warmest of welcomes , a table that takes into account mild concerns about this Corona thing and then a lunch that can only be described as ‘wow’ . A range of starters , all of which were the personification of the word ‘yummy’ . The Main Courses offer a range of sensational fish dishes that are impossible to beat . I won’t describe individual dishes as they are all brilliant This was our fifth visit to Williams and it gets better every time we come to Nailsworth . The four of us spoilt ourselves with two superb bottles of splendid White Burgundy . We left having enjoyed a wonderful lunch yet again . Great value . Kind and caring service . Great value ! Unbeatable . We will be back without any doubt!!!!

Just had an amazing 3 course meal in William's and only £25 per person. This deal is on Tuesdays and Wednesdays during January and February. Great menu choice with fish, meat and veggie dishes plus lovely puddings. My husband had fish soup and I had game terrine served with sourdough toast and side salad. We then had lamb tagine with couscous and gurnard with lentil and chorizo stew. Sticky toffee pudding was great on a cold day and creme brulee was superb. Fabulous staff and all in all a great time. Thank you so much.

We enjoyed a very tasty fish lunch on a Saturday in October. The restaurant was full. It extends from a traditional, tiled fish shop on the high street in this interesting town. Service was excellent. Prices are not cheap but the quality, freshness and variety of flavours justify the expenditure.

We went back to Williams after giving it a year's break following a bad experience with the dressed crab being un-edible. Arrived to a very noisy place with some people shouting at each other at the top of their voices making a conversation at our table impossible. Never mind. Asked if the loud tables could be encouraged to 'keep it down a bit' but waitress was clearly not interested. We tried to eat our food quickly but even that was impossible because my friends fish cooked dry so we had to wait for it to be redone. Mussels were absolutely tasteless. No one on our table enjoyed their food or evening despite it being a birthday dinner. We'll leave it there.

Myself and my partner visited Williams recently during our weekend away. We are not from the area therefore relied on reviews and recommendations, from this we were excited to eat here. Sadly we were hugely disappointed. From the moment we entered the restaurant we felt we were treated differently to others. We had to ask to be served, food had to be sent back, dietary requirements were neglected and stereotypical comments were made for paying in cash. Overall we felt hugely miss treated. The service was terrible, the food was below parr and the staff were pretentious to say the least. There are plenty of other restaurants in the area which are much more welcoming, the quality of food is better and price is more reasonable for the overall experience. Safe to say we do not recommend.

We were booked for our evening meal here on the 29th of May. The service was attentive from the word go. Monica and her team could teach the bigger restaurants a thing or two about service! The food was spot on too. I had spicy crab soup and my husband had a crab ceviche like started and both were delish. The highlight was of course the lobster we had for our main course. Loved the Bulgur salad it came with! They also do fresh orange juice which is refreshing and unique for this part of the world. Can’t recommend this place enough. We’ll definitely be back! ❤️

A nice restaurant and deli in Nailsworth serving mainly but not exclusively fish dishes. On this occasion we decided to have an outside table for lunch, which was lovely. Service was friendly, attentive and prompt. All three diners opted for the fish and chips; beer battered haddock, French fries, homemade tartar sauce and salad. Really good portions and beautiful fish. There were vegetarian and gluten free dishes on offer. We skipped starters and sweets but there were some tempting options. A great restaurant for lunch or dinner.
