On entering we were met by a modern interior, crisp white table linen and an atmospheric buzz of happy diners.
We hadn't booked as not sure of the time that we would be eating, but called in on a Friday night around 7.30. The place was packed but the waiter kindly checked his list and booked us in for an hour later, so we called at a bar meanwhile.
The food was excellent and the bottle of Shiraz that we had to accompany it was good value at £19.95. We like our food on the spicy side, but as this was our first visit accepted the order as it came to assess the heat. This was more than adequate on the 2 chilli menu register so we would continue to order without any changes in future visits.
Overall a lovely place to eat with great food and wine, we will definitley visit again.

We booked a table of 4 for 8pm on a Saturday, the restaurant was packed, great atmosphere, even thou busy we were seated, asked for drinks and order taken quickly. Great choice on the menu, from traditional dishes to the standard Indian selection. We all chose different starters and mains so we could taste each others , and they all hit the spot with flavours and spice, I must say that the onion bhaji was probably one of the best I've had & the Gurkha beer was fantastic!! Staff throughout was fantastic, a great dining experience.

Booked in for a Friday evening for our weddings anniversary. When we arrived it was very full (not a complaint) and it had a great atmosphere. We were greeted at once, stated our booking and the gentleman said our table would be a few minutes. Not a problem, we were slightly early, so enjoyed a drink.
Our table was decorated with balloons and a banner, which was unexpected and appreciated. My wife is coeliac and the manager explained all the choices that were safe for her.
After ordering, our starter came promptly and was very tasty. We shared the Everest platter (I had mixed Tibetan momo’s, too) they were also excellent.
For mains we ordered one butter chicken and one mixed Gurkhali with chicken and keema (not on the menu, but not an issue at all when I asked if they could make it).
We went for the personalised rice and the manager recommended me a Fulka Roti (I’d never heard of one of those before, but trusted his recommendation).
The meal, when it came, was very well presented in beautiful white bowls. The taste was off the charts. I’ve eaten in some very good eateries but this was different class. Words can not do it justice, you must go there and experience it.
We couldn’t face a third course, but the staff brought us out a lovely layered ice cream dessert in a bowl piped with ‘Happy Anniversary’ in mango and coconut purée and a bottle of fizz for us to share.
I really can’t express how good the food tasted. The service, attentiveness and knowledge of the whole staff team working there was outstanding.
I will 100% return to Market Harborough, just to eat there again.
Simply perfect.
We only took 2 photos, as we were too engrossed in the meal and forgot - distracted by the quality of it.

Had a table for 2 booked for 19.00.we arrived 10 minutes early and was seated immediately. The restaurant was already busy. Difficulty ordering drinks due to a language barrier with the server. Poppadoms arrived swiftly. Drinks took an age ( eaten 4 poppadoms between 2 before they came) and one was wrong.
After around an hour starters arrived. They were very tasty but it was impossible to get another drink and was told mains were a long way off yet. My wife and I gave up at this point. I did raise my voice to the Manager as I was so upset. This was a special night out for us, pre booked, and it was ruined by poor service.
I tried to pay for what we had eaten and drunk as I am not in the habit of trying to get freebies. Payment was twice refused. I did make it very clear that his refusing payment would not prevent me leaving a scathing review.
I always try to be fair when leaving feedback and on this occasion that can only mean my saying " do not eat here" if you expect to eat in a timely manner. Thanks to this restaurant our night out ended with takeaway burgers and chips in our hotel room that we had booked especially to visit this establishment.

My husband and I have recently moved to the area and with the restaurant being highly rated thought we’d give it a try. The momo starter was amazing! However the mains I ordered; Salmon tikka was not cooked so I asked a member of staff to return it, I thought they would cook this through and return which to be honest I wouldn’t have minded. When my main came back which looked delicious there was a hidden raw seeded chilli which I eat with my first bite of the salmon, all I can say is I was in absolute pain. We explained to the manager what was in the salmon and I told her I wouldn’t be eating the rest so remove it from the bill. I didn’t feel she was very apologetic actually said the chilli was for decoration, who puts a good size raw, seeded chilli hidden as decoration? She then asked if I wanted water ? Surely she would know that water makes it worse? I thought the chilli had been added because I’d sent the salmon back to the kitchen which I did say to the manager which she said was not the case it was probably decoration . When we paid the bill the salmon was removed but again no apology for the incident. Left in pain will definitely not return and my advise to others don’t send meals back that aren’t cooked.

A busy restaurant on a Saturday evening, we were crammed into a table which was not big enough for six people, we could barely fit our food on it!
Waiting staff use trolleys to serve the food and continually bumped them into the back of our chairs throughout our meal due to lack of room!
Food was average, very bland, we all had different meals but they all tasted the same!
Disappointed as we were expecting better.

Where do I start. We arrived on time has a table for 5 booked. We sat down ordered drinks which took over 20 mins to arrive. My mum had ordered a glass of wine and they tried to bring her 3. We ordered poppadoms and some were not cooked properly. No apologies just went and give us some others that were cooked. our starters arrived and we can only describe that the Sheek kebab wrapped in chappati were so dry that we struggled to eat them. My mums boneless sea bass arrived and she choked on a bone. There was no apology we were told that they notify the chef. Finally when the bill arrived we were charged for tap water granted only a 1p charge but still charged. All in all not a great Indian restaurant or experience. We will not be returning here. Don’t know what others see in this place to get it so highly rated. I am Asian and my favourite food is Indian. I have eaten in hundreds of different Indian restaurants and this is no where near the standard you would expect for the prices that you pay.

Our first time ordering a takeaway from Everest after hearing some good reviews. We were left disappointed to say the least! We love an Indian takeaway and this just did not hit the mark.
We ordered the Everest Platter and the chicken wings were slimy and oily, the lamb chops had absolutely no flavour, the chicken tikka pieces were dry and the Shish kebabs were unevenly cooked. For £18 it was an absolute rip off with half of it ending up in the bin!
The Butter Chicken was bland with gristly chicken, Malai Kofta just tasted like sugar, Mango Chicken felt like the chicken was cooked separately to the sauce as it had no flavour at all, just dry plain chicken in a mango coconut sauce.
The only thing we actually enjoyed from our meal was the rice!

We should have realised when we arrived that, as the restaurant was so quiet on a Friday evening, that it isn't popular. When we left, staff were all just sitting at the bar chatting. A nearby restaurant was, as always, very busy (and serves excellent food).
In summary, a monkfish starter was raw. King prawn puri did have some prawns in it.
The two tikka chicken dishes were served warm, not sizzling and the chicken tikka was a strange pink and didn't look like it had come out of a tandoor or even grilled. Poppadums and pickle for 4 over £13!
Not one we will return to - back to our usual curry house in Market Harborough

Food was very disssapointing.
Prawn poori had hardly any prawns. The prawns that were in it were chopped.
The momos were not great momos and no tomatoe chutney! Everytime ive ever had momos they come with lovely tomato chili type salsa sauce, they came with some sauce and what I think was bar b q sauce?.... Not very authentic.
Although lamb was on the bone, the food tasted like it was shop bought curry. The rice tasted like a tilda packet rice. The poppadoms were soft and pickles not very tasty. I liked the roti!
But unfortunately that was it.
When you pay £65 for meal you don't want it to taste like out of packet or microwave. It did.
Although service was lovely the food was really disappointing.

After seeing Everest Lounge was number 1 in Harborough I thought I wouild give it a try even though I was sceptical s there were a lot of reviews from the same people. We have been regulars here for 12+ months however our last visit was very poor indeed.
Whilst the service was good on a Wednesday evening the food was at breath taking speed. Our starters were Luke warm and the main course rice was cold.
Very very dissatisfied, we were in and out within an hour !!!

First visit to Everest Lounge and won’t be out last.
Lovely greeting upon arrival and after checking availability, we were taken to our table. We hadn’t booked so we were taking a chance in a Friday.
We chose the poppadoms as a starter with the usual mixed onion salad and a choice of three dips. They tasted fresh and new flavours to the taste buds.
Our mains arrived, after a short break, very hot and presented well. Chicken Rogan Josh and a mixed fish dish (can’t remember the name !) with a mushroom pilau along with a veg pilau. We shared a Coriander Nann.
We were not disappointed with our entire experience and will definitely be returning to sample a different choice on the menu.
To finish off, we were offered a complimentary drink which was a lovely gesture.
We ordered a bottle of Pinot and a bottle of iced water and the bill came to £56 which I thought was excellent value.
We’ll done Everest Lounge 👍

I’ve been quite a few times to Everest Lounge and it’s always been really good, Saturday night after saying how good it was I took my Friend for her first time.
We arrived just after 5:15pm and they was only one other table seated. We hadn’t booked but the waiter said as long as we gave the table back at 7pm it was ok. We thought it’s not going to take over an hour and half to eat.
20 minutes seated and still waiting for our order to be taken and perhaps getting asked if we wanted any drinks.
Everything from that point was really slow. The service was all over the place. The table behind us were still eating starters when their mains came and the waitress didn’t know what to do!
We were still eating our mains just before 7pm and I joked and said I bet we get asked to hurry up and finish so they can have the table back. We did finish on time at 7pm and then waited and waited for any kind of service.
Just after 7:15pm the waiter came over to us and did say we needed to finish as they need the table back, we informed him we had and was actually waiting for our plates to be taken away. More time passed whilst we sat waiting for the bill.
Not sure why Saturday night service was as bad as it was but it wasn’t great. Shame as I had said to my friend how great it was.

We both ordered shashlik, a lamb and a chicken. The lamb was clearly precooked so tough from reheating.
The chicken was tasteless.
The sauces we chose as an option were thick and gloopy, as were the chutneys.
The chips were soggy and clearly undercooked.
I enjoyed the poppadoms!
How hard is it to get the basics right.
I'll try The Avatar next time.
