We visited the Ranch for my son's birthday. There were four adults, a child and a baby. The tables are so well spaced we felt very safe in these insecure times. There's plenty of hand gel available and the waiting staff are well aware of social distancing rules and adhere to them. The food was delicious and we all enjoyed our meals. The atmosphere is also warm and welcoming. Our waitress was called Katy and was fantastic. She was so friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble for her. My son got £15 off his meal because it was his birthday and he had ID with him to prove it. I would recommend a visit to this place and look forward to going again soon.

We visited The Ranch on a Thursday night. It was the first time visiting the new venue, there is much more seating than the former, the area for live music and improved bar was also a nice touch. We were served some cocktails and then shown to our table. We had the nachos to share, and then ordered a burger each, the food was delicious and came out with enough time to let the starters settle. Our waiter Abbey was very helpful when dealing with the fact I have a nut allergy and did her best to ensure me that the food would be safe to eat and prepared well away from any nuts. Overall had a great night and shall be visiting again.

My husband, daughter and I had a meal here on 16th January and it was really nice cooked food.Everything tasted very nice and the staff were very pleasant and very busy. We had to wait to be seated as it was so busy, but the staff were very polite and very attentive when they got the chance. We really enjoyed our food and only had mains as we could not eat anything else after eating so much. I would definitely recommend this place and will be going back again.

9 family members went for my daughters birthday. Had heard great reviews and she had been before with friends, so wanted to come back with family to celebrate. Table was booked for 7 pm. It was a Wednesday evening and not particularly busy. We got seated and then was left for 20 mins with menus none of us could see clearly. Even the younger ones who don’t wear glasses struggled; small print and very dim lights. When our order was finally taken it took another 30 mins to arrive then our plates were left after we had finished for another 20 mins. It was nearly 9pm when the table was cleared and we were asked if desserts were wanted. Unfortunately by then we were all a bit fed up. A couple of the group had a pudding but some of the group had to leave due to sitters etc.. I did say that we were disappointed with the slow service and we had seen other people come in after us, eat and leave before us. The waitress said sorry they had some staffing issues. Unfortunately this is not our problem and if we had been informed of a possible longer wait at the start of the evening we could have phoned home to make arrangements with sitters to extend our stay but just sitting around and being left waiting is not acceptable service. This really took the shine off the food which was really good. Sadly it is the poor service that sticks in your mind.

Hello Karen T, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. Whether positive or negative, we take in all feedback to help constantly improve our restaurant. This review is a very disappointing one to read especially as it is down to me. Two weeks ago I was in hospital for an operation which at the last minute was changed from a very minor one to something more major. This resulted in me having to take longer away from the restaurant and my kitchen team stretched. I told my team to not make customers aware right away as I hate starting a night on a negative. Looking back on this I made a mistake and this resulted in unexplained delays on your visit so I'd like to apologise for you not getting the true Ranch experience. We usually expect customers to wait around 30 minutes max for main courses to arrive. This can obviously depends on many factors (how busy we are, well done steaks, etc.) so your waits are not something we're happy with. I'm also aware of the issue on some tables in regards to the printing on our menu. This is a error that is currently being corrected by our graphic designer who will be sending through some new menus soon with a different paper and size font making it much easier to read for all customers. I have also sent a private message asking for some more information if you could please check your inbox. Thanks, Oliver

We visited The Ranch towards the end of last year. The service was slow and we waited over 30 minutes for our starter which didn’t even require any cooking! When we received our main meals they were well presented, but we both thought that the meat tasted chewy and dry. Our server did ask us if everything was ok but we just politely nodded because I doubt there was anything they could have done about the meat! We felt incredibly disappointed with our meals and the bill wasn’t cheap. We recently tried a takeaway. We thought we would give The Ranch another try as we just assumed we had visited originally on a bad night. The service and presentation was good but again, the meat in both meals wasn’t great.

Hello, Thanks for your review! We take in all feedback, whether good or bad, to constantly improve our offering. We’d love some more information in regards to your disappointing review so we can look into this further. Could you please let us know what date you dined with us, your starter order and main order and name the table was booked under. We’d also appreciate if you could let us know your takeaway order and the date you ordered. This way we can look into this much further. In future, if you ever revisit us, or any restaurant, please ensure you’re honest to your server when checked back on. It’s the best way a restaurant can rectify your meal there and then and much better for us all instead of just reviews. Our email is contact@theranchlouth.co.uk. Thanks!

First visit since the move to aswell street. Nice decor but lacks the cosy atmosphere from previous location. Had pre birthday treat for my husband. Took to 2 serliins steaks for£25 including bottle of wine. My steak was chewy and tasteless despite being medium rare and the peppercorn sauce was luke warm. Side of garlic mushrooms were amazing I have to say. We left within an hour due to the amount of noise in the back room. Staff were friendly enough but felt more like a MacDonalds, quick feed em n ship em out. Spike to two members of staff how chewy steak was with no apology or comment. Can't say we will be returning in s hurry. Went a few times in the old location and really enjoyed it but in my opinion it's not as good. Appears to have expanded greatly but at the expense of the experience. Sorry to say it but not a good meal. Had better tasting n cheaper of a Tesco meal deal

Had an emergency business meeting, didn't have a booking so we went in as a walk in, asked at the bar if there was any availability and the polite Bar staff checked the reservation list, we were informed we could have a table and we were asked what drinks we would like and promptly shown to the table. Although early it was very busy with a good atmosphere, an older ladies birthday on a table next to us and a 16th just opposite. Ordered our food, I had a T-bone cooked medium rare, asked if we would like more drinks when our glasses were almost empty. Thought we would be waiting a while due to the volume of meals, but it was ready quite quickly. Served beautifully as I'd asked, the others at the tables food also as requested. Tucking in the food as per usual was amazing, the way the steaks are cooked seems magical. Again asked if we'd like more drinks and they appeared. A proper Wild West jewel in the Lincolnshire County.

Visited due to the good reviews on trip advisor. Had an early dinner, as that was the only available booking time. Those in our party that had steaks really enjoyed them. I had the blue cheese burger = 2 dry burgers and a dry bun. Blue cheese flavour was nice though. Daughter had a classic burger with cheese, again, dry, over cooked burgers and a dry bun. I added the coleslaw to my burger to try to create a bit of moisture but it didn’t really make much difference. I guess the top tip would be to not bother with the burgers. Drinks nice and reasonably priced, daughter enjoyed her New York cheesecake for dessert. Unlikely to return.

Yet again we had a lovely meal. The food and service are second to none. The menu choice is so good and very good value. portion sizes are generous and if you want ribs or steak they are so mouth wateringly tender. Brilliant! One word of warning is to book. It is easy to do online. Because it is so good and so popular you could be disappointed if you expect to just walk in without booking.

Meal of 4 on a Sunday evening and it was superb as always. Every person that I’ve brought to this restaurant agrees that the food is simply amazing (and we travel from Hull for the privilege.) Excellent service as always, the staff are always professional and serve with a smile on their face. Highly recommend the Chicken Waffle Burger or the Ranch Burger (as a season pro at this location as my friend is an avid Ranch fan and regularly reviews restaurant food for Grimsby Telegraph.) One day someone will drive me here so that I can sample the ‘Gin Tree’!

Very good - we booked well in advance and would recommend anyone to do this especially in this current climate. Lots of choice and great meal deals as well as the current discount scheme. Greeted by a very friendly “Will” and I think our friendly waitress was called “Leanne” who was very patient with our family whilst they made their choices and “tweaked” the dishes. Lots of space in the restaurant around the tables to get around comfortably.

With all the rave reviews we were really looking forward to visiting. Nice atmosphere and helpful staff but food made to a price and the quality reflects it. Nachos overloaded and mushy. Ribs had the consistency of the ones you get in the supermarket chilled section, not sure they were prepared on site other than reheated. Burger had the consistency of those frozen ones you get in mobile eateries and the football, race meetings, etc.... Not expensive but equally not sure I’d rush back.

Hello Simon R, Thank you for taking to time to leave us a review on your most recent visit to our steakhouse. We take in all feedback, whether good or bad, to constantly improve our restaurant, food and service. It is incredibly disappointing to read your comments on this review and I'd like to clarify on some of the issues you mention. In regards to our Nachos, these are fully loaded with toppings but should certainly not be soggy. This is something we'll review right away. Our Ribs are slow cooked slow 'n' low every day, alongside our pork shoulders and beef brisket, fresh with our dry rub recipe. Our Ribs, aside from steaks, are our best seller and it is extremely rare we have any bad comments on them so we apologise that these we're not to your liking. I can absolutely assure you that these are a product prepared in house by our chefs from start to finish. We had a lot of feedback on our old burgers stating they needed improving and improve them we did. They are now made by our trusted butchers, to ensure all health and hygiene regulations are complied with, using premium flank steak beef and our dry rub recipe used on our slow 'n' low products. We believe we had a delicious, juicy beef patty and have had great feedback since but understand that not everything will please all of our customers. We really hope you'll give us another visit in the future. Thanks

First time I have been and honestly cannot recommend this place enough and I would give more stars if I could. Truly amazing service from start to finish . Firsty I booked the wrong day so had to change my booking I phoned the ranch and the man who took the call couldn't have been more helpful . He took alot of time and patience with me on the phone to arrange an alternative day and time as they was quite fully booked. When we arrived we was greeted by a friendly staff member who lead us to our table. The menu was great and had lots to choose from. We had starter main dessert and cocktails couldn't fault any of it was all delicious and the prices were very reasonable too. The staff were so lovely and kept coming over to check everything was OK with our meals it was such a lovely atmosphere. I will definitely be going back its my new favourite place to eat.

Went here with my wife for a meal very nice place a bit dark had a his reading the menu .we had the steak deal two for £28 with a bottle of house wine didn't expect to pay extra for what you would expect to get with and steak meal but you only get mash or fries and one side so we had the fries and peas if you want onion rings ..salad.. mushroom .. tomato ..you will have to pay extra around £4 each item so a very expensive steak meal that staff were nice but are waitress nice but felt very pushy as didn't give use any time to really look at the menu and wanted to take are order . The steak was nice and tender but not much taste and the peas were tinned a and we had a Oreo Sunday it just had ice cream and biscuit in it.a bit disappointing on the food as I would have expected better from a place like this and for the price I have had a lot better Food than this . Hello phulland56, Thanks for your review and feedback! In regards to your comments on the steak meal, you may have been best ordering our "classic" side option, which is a more traditional steak serving as you've mentioned! A choice of potato (jacket, rustic fries or garlic mash), flat mushroom, tomatoes on the vine and onion rings, all included in the price and then ordered a side salad and/or peas for an extra £2.95 if this still took your fancy! It's a real shame to read your comments and disappointing we didn't reach your standards but hope one day you'll give us another try! Thanks

Before I start, don’t get me wrong the food was good, but it wasn’t a new and original taste that you’d expect from such a high price point. The decor is lovely, the staff welcoming - I guess because we came during the Eat out to Help out scene that things felt a little frantic and customer service came second to all the other things the staff had to do during covid. Again not entirely the venues fault - but it felt quite clinical not homely. But after hearing such great reviews I was let down by my experience. It just didn’t meet the mark. I will come again post covid and hopefully amend this review to be a 5*. Until then
