Called in to the Sun Inn today for lunch after a walk on the beach. A "must visit" proper local inn, good atmosphere, pleasant welcome and good food and cider. Alnmouth village is certainly worth a visit.

We came in out of the cold with our dog for a lunch time stop. Very dog friendly place. My partner and I both had a freshly made vegetable soup with a baguette. Unfortunately neither of us enjoyed the soup as the pepper overpowered the taste and we don't like pepper, it would have been better to let the customer... More

Spent a lovely long weekend in Alnmouth, called in here a couple of times for a drink, very pleasant staff and lovely surroundings. Had a late Sunday lunch, it was delicious, very well cooked, melt in your mouth meat, lots of veg, good Yorkshire and stuffing, very impressed.

Small friendly pub with a small but decent menu. Mussels highly recommended and curry Thursday ok as well. Very dog friendly even accepting monsters like ours!

We visited this pub over the new year holiday and loved it. The staff are very friendly and helpful. 5 couples ate on New Years Day and all had great meals. Most of us had the roast beef for main course and agreed it was very nice and plentiful. The food isn't particularly cheap, but it's good value. Highly recommended.

Very friendly bar staff, welcoming regulars, lovely open fire and most importantly, a good range of beers and drinks, including specials such as the spiced G&T.

we called in here just for a coffee and brandy after an exhilarating walk on the beach. The dogs were made very welcome and such was the atmosphere we sat and ate. Whilst we only had soup and a sandwich we found it all of great quality and excellent value. One on the list for next time.

Stayed in Alnmouth overnight on 27/12/16 and had a meal and a few drinks in The Sun. Great little pub...great food..and the beer wasn't half bad either. They are also dog friendly if you have your four legged friend with you...like we did. Brilliant

Arriving mid afternoon we were glad to see this place was open, dog friendly. It has a roaring fire at either end and a bowl was brought out for our dog and she had some fuss. We both went for the burger which was excellent and very filling after a long trip. The chips are hand cut and nice and... More

The Sun Inn came highly recommended by family and friends, and while it wasn't a bad experience, I think it had been built up too much and didn't quite deliver. We both had fillet steak, and sadly my medium turned up medium-rare, and my wife's medium-rare was closer to rare, and while not terrible, wasn't up there with the tastiest... More
