You chose your food from a counter and it's brought to your table. Nearly all salad-type foods and so varied. The all-in English breakfast is better than anywhere else we've been on this Sceptred Isle. We have been coming here for four or five years now and the food is always delightful. A word of caution though: it can be... More

You stand and order from the counter and they give you your plate when you've made your choices. Also choose a drink and find a nice place to sit which may be sharing a table with others, Its great food.

We stopped by for lunch on a Saturday, the cafe was busy but we managed to get a table. We went to the counter to select our food but we left waiting there for some time. We could see that the staff was busy, all we need was to be acknowledged but we were left standing there. When our order... More

We'd already been here for coffee and cake and the plates of salads had got us drooling so came back for a proper lunch a few months later. I had a cauliflower and feta frittata and my partner had a sausage roll. We got two salads to share for £9.50 which sounds steep but they were amazing! Rich creamy homemade... More

Quick lunch at the Field Kitchen but it was very busy so had to wait for a table. Beautiful salads (cakes also looked amazing but didn't indulge). And a really excellent and large cup of tea (not kidding: one of the best cups of tea I have had out in years!). Also had delicious salmon fishcake. It is on the... More

Stopped for lunch on a dreary day and were lifted in spirits. The room was crowded but service was great, quick and friendly. The salad choices featured a wide range of ingredients and were very tasty. Coffee was tasty and Fairtrade. Would visit again!

Walked in on a cold morning around 10am and was disappointed to see that the fire had not been lit. Very uninviting. There were a number of cakey items on display at the counter but as none were covered we didn't fancy them so opted for cooked breakfast instead. I've noticed this before on a previous visit in summer. I... More

Lovely little find in Nettlebed. Beautiful salads. I had the salmon fish cake and two salad sides and it was all delicious. Not a huge amount of seating and was very busy the day I was there which, I believe, is normal - always a sign of a good place to eat. After you've eaten you can open the door... More

My first time at The Field Kitchen which I had been meaning to visit for a long time after hearing good reviews from friends. I decided to have the soup of the day which was vegetable, there were lots of chunky vegetables and it was very delicious. The soup was accompanied by soft granary bread. All in all the perfect... This is a unique eating place. The menu won't be found elsewhere and you will find yourself trying to work out which offering you want for fear of missing out on something else. We were popping in for a tea and cake before heading for a walk in the nearby woods. The glutton free brownie was good enough to take... More
