Booked in to celebrate my husband's birthday with a party ranging down in age to a three year old. Sarah and staff were so helpful and hospitable, as always, particularly with regard to the wheelchair user in the party. Truly gorgeous and imaginative food.

We called here on Christmas Eve for lunch and were delighted with the warm and friendly welcome we received from the staff, The menu was good as was the wine list we chose the fish pie which was excellent and full of flavour. The place was busy but we were soon found a table, despite the seasonal pressures we were... More

We stopped here by chance following an impromptu Sunday Outing to Church Stretton that is around an hours drive from our home. There is extensive parking outside and as we turned in the car park was fairly full, well it was a Sunday lunchtime. We entered the pub and were warmly welcomed and accommodated within minutes even though the place... More

12 of us met for lunch which included 3 children aged 8 and twins of 4 years old. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The children's lunch was served earlier than the adults which was great and was a very good idea. The food was very tasty especially the triple cooked chips. I had the... More

The place was virtually empty when we arrived at 7.15 on a Friday in December, and remained that way through the evening. We were attended to promptly but when I asked for the Christmas menu (which is advertised to be available from Dec 1) it wasn't on. From the regular menu, I chose rabbit terrine, which was tasty enough but... More

We went midweek and sat by a roaring fire. My husband had chicken Kiev & I had curried sea bream, both were good. We shared frangipane tart & amaretto ice cream which was lovely. Good wine list. Food reasonably priced, good service, nice ambiance.

The standard of cooking here is outstanding. The a la carte dishes are inventive and perfectly executed. Portions are spot on and the balance of flavours faultless. All this at incredibly reasonable prices. Excellent local ales and a good value wine list. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive without being over bearing. If you are ever in Shropshire you... More

We were attending a wedding near Church Stretton and as my partner was one of the ushers it was decided that the groom, best man and ushers should meet here for a pre wedding drink and talk. Description
The Pound at Leebotwood is a 15th century thatched country pub and restaurant, situated in the heart of rural picturesque Shropshire countryside and is run by Neil & Sarah McCann. Our menu offers dishes created from fresh local ingredients, we use local and artisan suppliers, within a 30 mile radius where possible. Neil and Harry change the menus in tune with the seasons, so there will always be something new on the menu.
We offer a classic Sunday lunch menu every week, always serving three roasts along with elements of our menu to suit all tastes and appetites.
