We came here on New Years Eve for lunch. Never been but it was recommended to us. It was easily found on the High Street, with a pay and display carpark nearby. What a fantastic eclectic place this is! Small rooms packed with tables -...More

Slow service. The waitresses managed to avoid all eye contact. My husband had to go to the counter to order, and the waitress tried to charge him for drinks we hadn’t ordered. Lovely coffee however, and the food being delivered to nearby tables looked lovely....More

I am so sorry you were unhappy when you visited us; without knowing when that was, I can't comment specifically, but I would point out that we intentionally recruit local young people as waitresses, rather than hiring more experienced people, as it is so rewarding...More

Called in for coffee and was delighted to find a comfortable sofa. Liked the place so much we went back for lunch later, using one of the many tables also on offer. My husband had the best mushroom soup he’s ever had while my broccoli...More

We ate here twice - once for lunch which was so good that we had to return for one of their breakfasts. An interesting building with several rooms so it feels as if you are in someone's house. A very inviting fire and a cosy...More

A delightful, cosy place. I give the cream tea I had 10/10. Wonderful homemade food in a relaxed homely feel. A fire in the hearth, settees and armchairs in one room, and also a conservatory with tables and chairs. The service was friendly and prompt.

Family of 4 visited twice in a week - once for coffee and cake, the other for breakfast. Great coffee and a good selection of cakes (the coffee cake was excellent). Breakfast was superb especially the freshly made blueberry pancakes. All the produce used is...More

Every ingredient tasted delicious: local sausages, farm cured bacon, homemade baked beans, yellow yolk egg, melting black pudding, freshly baked toast with butter. And such a range of teas! If I lived locally I’d be here daily...

Hidden away down a small alley this is a true hidden gem of a place. The main courses and cakes are all made with love and skill. The cafe is a homely collection of small tastefully furnished rooms and the service is friendly and thoughtful.
