An amazing and atmospheric coffee house maze of small furnished rooms. Great scrambled egg breakfast and superior cakes with your afternoon tea.

We visited for a spot of lunch and had a lovely meal. I had a banana milkshake with a tomato and lentil soup, whilst my wife had a strawberry milkshake and a cheese and chutney sandwich. The bread was delicious! Word of warning though - they don't accept card payments.

No organisation and a long wait for food. Waited 30 minutes to be served and two other tables had to refer the waitress to our table. Good working memory and organisational abilities should be integral to the role. The lack of organisation and service is sharply contrasted by the food which I have always found to be excellent. My partner... More

Enjoyed a cosy cream tea and toasty fire at this welcoming waterring hole. Comfy chairs await a weary traveller.

In the past we have visited for tea, meals, cakes. We were real regulars. However, after 3 occasions of finding hair in our food... twice in scones and once in a pie, we decided to steer clear. However, really fancied a cream tea today and Jemima's is closed for kitchen refit. I got yet another hair in my scone... they... More

I'm sorry you feel that you should not have paid for your replacement scone. Assuming they're not bald, all humans shed a hair from time to time, and I'm afraid I can think of no reason why people working at Berry's should do so more frequently. We don't keep a record of hairs found by customers, but around a couple... More

We have been before and we're really looking forward to a top quality offering. Well, it nearly was. There were ham sandwiches on the menu so I asked if we could pay extra for cheese as well. The result would have been perfect except for the skinny slice of ham. Bread was perfect as was the side salad and crisps.... More

I am so sorry to learn that you were disappointed with your sandwich when you visited us recently. Our ham is sliced 3mm thick, which we felt was the ideal thickness; we did experiment with 3.5mm, but some customers found it a bit overpowering. In the light of your comments, however, we will review things again, including trying to avoid... More

Recommended to me by a local independent retailer - always a good source of tips etc - we tried it and liked it a lot. Traditional, old-school place with exquisite coffee and tea and great cakes! Coffee cake for us, which inspired us to try to bake one at home ourselves.

We stopped by after visiting a wonderful antique shop in Church Stretton. My partner and I had home made soup with freshly baked bread and salted butter! I followed up with a wonderful meringue cake with nuts etc in it and great ice cream; my partner Ali had a tea cake. Great food, relaxed atmosphere and good service. What more... More
