We had such a lovely lunch last Friday. There was just the right amount of attention to detail. My starter with walnuts and pear and leaves was full of hidden subtle flavours like the odd leaf of coriander, and the walnuts slightly toasted. It was prepared with love. Same for our roasts. All the veg perfect. I opted for the... More

We recently booked a table at The Royal Oak. We were looking forward to our reservation as we had walked 6 miles in the rain to get there! We arrived and it took 15 minutes of waiting at the bar for anyone to speak to us and then seat us. The pubs was fairly busy but by no means busy... More

We were guests at the Inn, but there were plenty of diners who weren't. It is quite cosy and very much a pub - though most of the space is given over to dining, and only a handful of localsat in the small bar area. Real ale is on offer but the choice is limited to two. The food was... More

A weekend of last minute bookings. A table for 5 where we ordered a mixture of mains and starters all delivered at once. The team weren't phased at all. A great selection of ales and wines. Lovely seafood / fish platter and the pigeon breast was beautiful. I am not normally a pudding person, but the sticky toffee pudding was... More

We had Sunday lunch here ahead of an afternoon at Goodwood Races. Friendly welcoming staff and a lovely atmosphere. Choice of three roasts with all the trimmings as well as many other options, all succulent Definitely be back

Relaxed service in the pub / restuarant. We really enjoyed a relaxed evening, although I suspect its rather more frantic if Goodwood events are on. However, if you are going to Goodwood, its a very close option.

My husband and I, with our little dog, stopped here for lunch and a drink on our way to a holiday cottage. Food was delicious and service very good. We sat outside as the weather was good but the inside of the pub looked very nice. Pretty sitting out area with plenty of tables and chairs. I asked the waitress... More

Could not fault the hotel and food and service. Beautiful country setting, fabulous walks. The food was great and the room fantastic. Would definitely recommend.

The two of us lunched on our way to the Pallant Gallery in Chichester. As we weren't very hungry (and as we'd seen the size of 'normal' portions served to other guests), we asked if we could simply have starters. This proved no problem at all, and so we just had 3 starters between us. All 3 were excellent, both... More
