Visited on Sunday evening. I can honestly say it's the best meal out I've had in a long while. I ordered the lambs liver which was perfectly cooked so easy to get it wrong, complimented with fresh vegetables including red cabbage, a nice touch. Delicious and all for a very modest sum.

Homley village pub with traditional real ales on offer. Friendly bar staff. The food is very good too. Would definitely recommend. Reasonable food prices. It's also nice to sit in front of a roaring fire.

Arrived here on Saturday night to stay in our van on the car park. It's a lovely old worldy pub and the landlady was very pleasant. There is a variety of games - we played darts, pool, scrabble, chess. The cider was lovely and the landlady was nice enough to give us some hot water for our water bottles before... More

We were recommended this pub by the man whose house we rented (Larch House). We booked by phone but was running late on our way up from Cheshire, Sandra was fine when we rang to let her know. 7 of us ate in the bar as we had our dog with us, wide menu choice, good sized portions, lovely homemade... Called in at lunchtime. Great old fashioned Pub, excellent selection of drinks and some good hand pulled beers. Had a lovely lunch, all food is freshly prepared and really nice. Desserts also very good.

I have been three times to The Laurie Arms for meals and found the food to be excellent. If you are holidaying or visiting Castle Douglas or Dalbeattie area be sure to give this place a visit. Being only a short drive from the A75 why not break your journey for a meal---you won't be disappointed !!

Saturday seems to be a difficult night to get a table in the Castle Douglas area, even in September. Decided to take the short journey to Haugh of Urr and we were delighted we did. Huge portions, the fish was hanging off the plate at each side, and was wonderfully fresh. My sweet and sour chicken was equally good with... More
