Room was booked for a function! Table covering were dirty on arrival, food came out at all different times and some cold! Staff accused guests of not paying when they had, argued with a heavily pregnant woman for money!

The food in general was good, although my husband got a burnt gammon steak. The ambiance of the place is lacking - cutlery incorrectly set, - staff could have been better - the door was wedged open and we were frozen, and had to keep our coats on. We would not recommend it unless they go that extra mile and... More

Always busy the staff at the Crown are friendly & helpful, we've been for the Sunday Carvery for the last 2 weeks & it was cooked to perfection with a great choice of sides, the puddings were very nice as well, great value

At first when we went in to the pub, we thought we had made a mistake as it was very small, dingy and full of big sweaty drunk men. Our waitress was very friendly and to our surprise the food was high class and huge portions! I had chicken balmoral, which is chicken stuffed with haggis and wrapped with bacon.... More

My wife and I went to the Crown on the advice of a taxi driver, whose advice was very sound! We had 2 courses, starter and main; we couldn't have managed a third as the portions were huge. My wife's starter was the haggis, neeps and tatties 'stack' which may be the best option; she rated it delicious; my starts... More

Stopped for lunch absolutely brilliant had steak pie think was half a cow in it, starter was haggis topped with tatties an whiskey sauce a must have, one of the best starters i have ever had and i have eaten in some very expensive restaurants that should take a leaf out of this hotel . Well done the Crown
