Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

One of the best afternoon teas I have had. The right ratio of bread based and cake based stuff, with a wee cup of soup too. Fillings included a red pepper and humus- not something I would choose but it was great, and a cheese...and pickle - pineapple pickle. Scones sublime. Great wee spot, atmosphere warm and the art work incredible.More

Lovely cafe and gallery situated in the Bays of Harris. We were fortunate to visit when the weather was so good. Enjoyed the time chatting and the food on our first visit so much we returned the following day and purchased a painting we had...admired. Can highly recommend this place to enjoy scenery, wildlife, and ambience. Enjoy.More

Beautiful setting. Friendly folk. Very tasty coffee and freshly baked scones. Interesting paintings of light on scenery but no pressure to buy.

Cycled over twice… delicious coffees and wonderful scones… and the most amazing views if you can sit outside and welcoming fire in the gallery. Very welcoming, thank you.

We've been to a great many cafes from New Zealand to Scotland and The Skoon is definitely one of our very favourites. Stunning location, delicious coffee and scones, beautiful paintings to admire or buy, great atmosphere with lovely music (discovered Duncan Chisholm's music here), friendly...service, place spotlessly clean, nice and cozy with log burner. First class experience!More

Skoon is a lovely, community supported small business on Harris. We enjoyed a scone with cream and jam while admiring the hand crafted works for sale. There are some very large scale pieces but some beautiful small ones, also. The gallery has a wonderful ambience....It’s in an old cottage that is lovingly restored.More

Beautiful gallery and cafe with views over the bay. We enjoyed our experience along with the coffee and scones which were delicious. We would highly recommend stopping by. You may even see the seals from the window. The owners were both welcoming and friendly.

There are not many places to stop for food on the east coast of South Harris, but this one is worth noting.

It was a rather dreich day as we drove down the eastern side of south Harris. There were glimpses of the spectacular scenery as we made our way towards Rodel. Coffee was very much on our minds and when we saw the signpost for Skoon,...we immediately turned off the road. What a gem of a place and it was exactly what we needed - coffee, cake, art, music and lively hosts in a beautiful setting.More

Amazingly beautiful place! We had delicious coffee and cake here when we cycled the Golden Road on Harris. I also bought a painting from the owner- the artist- and he is posting it to me. There are benches outside and some tables indoors. Wonderful!
