We placed our order and we're told that it would be about 20mins but not until after we'd paid were we told that it would actually be about r0 minster until we received our food. At least it was freshly cooked and hot but not that great. There was little meat in the beef dish the sauce was very runny... More

Had a takeaway, very tasty but very little meat in the portions which then can be a bit expensive for what you get. There was less sweet and sour chicken balls than usual which was disappointing.

Didn't like the food here, the curry we ordered tasted weird, not a curry taste i had ever had before and that made me feel a little uneasy. Clearly they have been here for a long long time, the decor is straight from the 70s which appealed in a strange way, and the place was very clean indeed. My negative... More

With mixed reviews for Happy City was little anxious about eating here, how wrong I was, although the deco is a little dated, the welcome is really warm. On the night we were there was a few diners, service was quick and friendly. The food was fresh and tasty ,really enjoyed the chicken in black bean. Reasonable priced ,really friendly service and... My family & I were staying in the area & went here for a takeaway. We placed our order & were told it would be 30 mins, we went back after 30 mins & it still wasn't ready. We ended up waiting over an hour for our meal which was very frustrating as other people that had ordered after us... More

They seem to struggle with flavour in this takeaway. My chow mein, to be honest, had some really odd after taste, I can't quite explain what but it really isn't pleasant. Chicken balls, they clearly don't heat the fat hot enough before putting the balls in, since the battery retains so much grease and is slightly separated from the actual... More

Three of us had different starter's and different main meals and all were excellent, hot and tasty. The service was very good and the food was served promptly with good portions. The weather was atrocious so not many in restaurant but takeaway was busy. We will be back.

We decided to have a Chinese meal and as the Chinese near our abode was closed for holidays, we went to Cardigan as this was the only Chinese around. The owner was as glum as a bear with a toothache. The restaurant has no ambience. The hot and sour soup was okay and the plain noodles too. The rest of... More

I have been using this Chinese restaurant for years 20+, as many of the reviews have said it does need a bit of a revamp (decor and card machine payments) BUT it does sell good food at an affordable price in a clean setting. The core of the staff are in fact a Chinese or Chinese/British family, despite what a... More

During the last 20 years I have never had a poor meal at this restaurant. Service is good but can be a bit slow, it is generally busy. Also has a takeaway. Only accepts cash, no chqs or cards.
