Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The most evocative place to eat and drink in Barmouth..Great music..atmosphere...food and great staff. My friend and I had a great day at the Last Inn.Jaya was very attentive as were all the fron of house staff. Our meal was well presented and delicious. All...the staff deserve a big thank you. We wish them all a great Christmas and plenty of happy customers.More

Ignore the bad reviews this place is great. Stopped for lunch mid week but even then filled up with every table taken (surely a good sign). Staff very friendly and beer was great. Lunch time menu has a good choice. We went for cod loin...and scampi both really fresh, very hot and tasty. Worth the price for both. Only feedback would be not to serve the food in the baskets. It’s impossible to eat from them and you have to process of tipping it out. Other than that great place, very quirky, super friendly staff and tasty food. We would recommendMore

Called in again while in Barmouth. Interesting pub with a good range of ales. Was going to eat and the food looked good but looking at the menu, thought it was over priced...the burger I wanted was £17.95.....just too much for a burger.... and wasn't...paying £26.95 for a steak....sorry but thought food and drink overpriced? Walked up the other end of town....Happy hour(s) and food that was kinder on the wallet......More

Great atmosphere and lovely service. Popped in for a drink and a snack. The food was served within 15 minutes of ordering. Enjoyed fish and chips and a cheese and ham ciabatta. Loads of areas to sit, inside and out (if you have dogs). Very...friendly and will definitely go back.More

Great place to eat and quite quirky. Good food. Made telephone reservations in advance, turn up quite early, and let them know in advance, but no tables are ready. Went out to look around town as can't stand up as a bit crowded. Return back...on time, and the table was taken!!! 😱 We had to wait 20 minutes before we were able to sit. On the house were 4 bags of peanuts for 8.More

Lovely lunch in this quirky little pub-restaurant. Very quick response to my message via Facebook. Made to feel welcome with my 2 labradors when we arrived on a rainy afternoon. It was nicely busy and we really enjoyed our visit. Thank you!

Called in for a snack and drink on 9th October. Having to wear tinted glasses was immediately plunged into darkness and couldn't walk safely. Fought my way to gents toilet through all the kitchen stores and equipment, only for the sensor lights to go out...within 30 seconds of going in (I was lucky - no lights at all in the ladies). Extremely rude, bad tempered barman then charged me £9.95 for a "Ploughmans" sandwich. Love Barmouth but won't revisit The Last InnMore

I've been twice. Looks amazing but I couldn't get a booking. So sad . From outside it looks beautiful and charming. Seating and flowers by the harbour.

Table was booked for 7.30pm so we arrived at 7.20. We booked this about 3 weeks prior as it gets busy. Had to get someone’s attention to let them know we were here for our table. I was told there was no booking for us....Turns out WE had booked for the Friday and not Saturday. We didn’t. You had written the booking on the wrong day. What was disappointing was the way it was dealt with to be honest. The girl just told me that some walk ins had been waiting an hour for a table. So basically we wouldn’t be getting a table. If you had our number, which you did and we didn’t turn up last night, why did you not call us. What’s the point in taking a number. In future I suggest when taking the booking by phone you should send a text confirming this or an email, or just move to on line to avoid human error.More

Booked to go here 2nd September as I know it gets busy. I booked here as it’s one of our favourite places. I wanted it for 7 and the lady informed me you only had a table for 7:30. We’ve just arrived to be told...the table was booked for last night. We have only arrived today why would I book it last night?? I’m absolutely fuming. We now have no where to eat as everywhere is full. I’m absolutely livid and to make absolutely no one was sympathic and to be told people having been waiting an hour I’ve been waiting 8092 hours!!!More

We stopped in for a late lunch after driving by for the first time in Barmouth. I immediately said, “that looks like a great place”. After driving around town we decided to pop in. It was everything I hoped for and more in a little...bar. Quirky, dim, bright, tidy and a little chaotic all at the same time! There is a natural cliff inside the pub that they made into a tiny grotto. Secret corners, both dimly lit and lighter near the windows if you want a coffee…… the food was excellent and served fast. Plants all around which was a winner for me! Highly recommend :)More

We have eaten here before and enjoyed it we were so looking forward to our return visit on Tuesday evening. My husband ordered the steak t bone special with hassle back potatoes and I ordered the ribs and was disappointed when informed they were sold...out. I settled for the lasagna at £18 which was truly bad no seasoning very sparse Bolognaise cooked with no tomatoes hard lasagna sheets and mostly a sickly white sloppy sauce. My husbands t bone was just ok on the tuff side and rock hard potato’s. Drinks prices are expensive nearly twice as much as the Royal pub we were staying at. Would definitely not recommend or return we paid a lot of money for an awful mealMore

£3.80 for a regular (small) Diet Coke is very expensive! No drinks menu either! Shame because the pub itself was very nice inside.

Unfriendly abrupt waitress who resented being asked to wipe the unclean table, which had been reserved in advance. Very disappointing start. She then insisted we order straight away, for no apparent reason other than to make her job a little easier. The food itself was...nice. I had the burger, which was nice but not very warm. Overall, food tasty, service very poor indeed and absolutely no attention to keeping tables clean. No sign of good management!More

We had the same problems getting through. My advice is go to the 'Captains Table' instead the food and service are way better.
