Even when busy, the staff went out of their way to be helpful and informative ... The menu really was more upscale than I expected, and probably had the nicest bit of scallops (appetizer) of the whole 2 wk trip ... wonderful warm local vibe led to nice chats with locals and other visitors.

Everything you want in a family run B&B, warm, friendly, cosy rooms and a hearty breakfast to go. Ample parking, close to town centre, good access to various walks in and around the Brecon. Recommended

Stopped by for lunch on a busy Saturday. Given prompt and cheerful service. Group of 10 of us and all had excellent and tasty food in congenial surroundings. Plenty of parking at the back but very narrow entrance. Perfectly possible with average size car. Would happily return.

Had lunch here on a weekday during my recent UK trip. It was a cold winter morning. When we entered the restaurant, we were ushered to sit near the fireplace. Seeing that we were cold, the staffs went to start a fire at the fireplace to warm us up. We really appreciated their attentiveness. The variety of food was great,... More

Went to celebrate our anniversary, a pleasant atmosphere with nice log fire, but that was the best part. The starter was very good a vegetarian starter but the main course of duck was the worst I have ever tasted, told the waitress and she told the manager but he did not even ask us what was wrong - it was... Recently stayed here for two nights, one with friends and one on our own. Came here as it had great location for 3 days of walking in the hills. Not disappointed, lovely building with friendly friendly staff. Both couples enjoyed the stay and would go back again. Food was very good, and a great selection of gins! Rooms were small... More

Visited the Dragon for a lunch a week ago with a group. There was a nice busy, but friendly buzz and the staff were very professional at getting drinks organised and checking the orders for lunch which had been phoned through earlier that morning. The plain burger and chips which I ordered arrived promptly, but had unfortunately, I suspect, been... More

Having been here many times we expected a nice meal as we have had in the past. Three of us had haunch of venison and one a beef and ale pie for mains. The venison sauce as over salted and the accompanying cabbage could not be eaten due to salt. We did call a member of staff over who quickly... More

Friendly staff and a very nice restaurant. Candle-lit tables, a wood burner and well-stocked bar make for a relaxing atmosphere. Delicious meals on two occasions, served quickly. Both had particularly well cooked, tast vegetables. Good range of vegetarian options as well as interesting meat and fish dishes.
