Avoid this place at all costs! I deeply regret not checking the reviews sooner to spare myself from this dreadful experience. We were completely deceived; the prices we were charged were significantly higher than those listed on the menu! Additionally, I received an extra 4...tiny biscuits, for which they charged an exorbitant 17 dinars, on top of our bill. We were certain they added them as an extra to our already sizable order. Anyone who has visited Tunisia knows what a rip-off this is! It's establishments like this that tarnish Tunisia's reputation, even though not all places are like this. Furthermore, the place is disgustingly dirty. This was undeniably the worst experience imaginable—steer clear if you can!More

Take a nice picture and leave that's my advice! After being recommended this place by our morally questionable tour guide we visited this cafe for some refreshments. On entering I realised that the café is very shabby, with dirty seat cushions and wasps everywhere. Not...like the perfect pictures you see on Instagram. We asked for a menu to be told there wasn't one.. " Coffee, tea juice..." was the answer. I was always told never go to a place where there was no menu and no price list but seeing as we just walked up the hill I got my children two strawberry lemonades. Asked how much they would be " 15 dinar" was the answer. We sat and appreciated the view and took a few pictures. A waiter came and gave us some traditional sweets on a plate, which I was very cautious of as I've seen this trick before. We left and I gave my teenage son 15 dinar to pay the waiter. He came back with no problem. As we were half way down the hill a aggressive man ran after my son demanding him to return to the cafe. He shouted and told us we owed 40 dinar. After lot of back and forth I managed to get him to leave by giving him 10dinar. My son was very upset by the experience and it turned the entire trip to Sidi bou Saiid sour. This place is ran by rats take your business to places ran by honest Tunisians that work hard to build good relationships with tourists.More

Attention It's the trappe for the tourist! It's beautiful place and the view is great, but they have two menu! one they hide from tourist another on the wall, I speak french, I asked him only The' a la menth (Mint Tea), the price It...was ok but he bring me The a l'amand (Almond tea with mint), so I thought is the same because mint also was inside of the tea but It's the different thing with different price, so practically he cheated me and really mad me angry and also he brought me the sweet which I didn't ask him and I thought all of them is the same simple mint tea! finnaly he asked me around 12USD!, the price is extremely high for Tunisia! so I insist to avoid going this place!(not for quality not for the view only because they try to cheat the customers)More

Amazing views in an amazing setting. Good food, decent prices, rude service, but hey, you can't have everything. Loved this place.

Be careful, big scam, absolutely avoid. We had 4 mint teas accompanied by two small plates of tasteless Tunisian sweet treats. The waiter took us aside and asked us for 88 dinars. It's a shame ! It's worse than that because it's called theft. We wanted to file complaints but unfortunately we had to be at a specific time in Nabeul, which meant a long journey from Tunis. All this puts this café in the top places to avoid and unfortunately does not improve the image we have of Tunisia. It's so sad :( !!!!More

Ask to see the menu before you order anything. Absolute worst way to end our trip. 90 dinar for coffee, juice and some store bought pastries. Perhaps they keep a separate more reasonable menu if your ask before ordering. Worst experience in Tunis

First scam that I experience happened here! It is a tourist trap and local authorities should do something about this place! Shocked to learn that my small glass of Green Tea cost 20 dinars or $7. Local lunches and dinners I had in Tunis City...Center only cost about $4-$5. Avoid, avoid, avoid this place!!!More

We decided to see the nice view in Sidi bou Side Cafe. When I searched for the nice cafe, this Cafe Sidi Chabaane was the most famous, I guessed. I visited in the last day in Tunisia. We order one expresso and mint tea. They...gave us coffee, mint tea and Tunisian sweet(trandional sweet). I didn't order the sweet but many people around me was having the same dessert. So I thought it would be free. * Negative point 1. I wanted to change the seat but the waiter told me I couldn't change the seat. 2. When I paid, the waiter said that.... "Coffee is 8 TND. Mint tea is 12 TND. Sweet is 15 TND. So madam~~ total is 47 TND." Total should be 35 TND. Right? When I told the waiter, he said "okay. Just give me 40 TND." I was almost about to make an argument with him. I told him it should be 35TND. He said "5 TND tip!!!!!" His face was like angry and frustrated. I almost threw away my money to him. And then other tourists, next us, almost made an argument with the waiter. LOL. That is their business. All waiter might do the same way. They know the tourists would visit just one time in this Cafe so they do like that. Some tourists might be satisfied with the Cafe and nice view even though they paid higher price than other shops. But I think it doesn't help Tunisian travel business. I had really good memory of Tunisia before visiting this Cafe. The Cafe should be closed for Tunisian travel business. If you want to have good memory of Tunisia, please don't visit the Cafe.More

Whilst the view is lovely, this place is an absolute scam operation. We asked for a menu but then decided just to have a drink. Unfortunately the drinks prices were not listed and when we went to pay (ushered away from local regulars I suspect...in case we made a scene) it was 35 TND 35…for two lemon fruit juices!!! Unfortunately we had no choice but to pay it. We paid with 40 and the waiter was expecting the change as a tip…. Add on: Silly move scamming us because the ridiculous thing is we probably would have come back as it is one of the few places in the area that serves alcohol…More

The location of Café des Délices is undeniably stunning, offering panoramic views that truly deserve a round of applause. Sadly, the overall experience sharply contrasts this breathtaking setting. While I'd generously grant 21 stars for the view, I'd have to subtract 20 for the abysmal...services. The quality of the coffee served was disheartening, especially considering its lofty price point. In comparison to other establishments in the vicinity, where the value proposition is much higher, Café des Délices falls significantly short. Moreover, the staff seemed overly eager for tips rather than providing a genuine, memorable service experience. The facilities, especially the toilets, left much to be desired, and the extended waiting time added to the overall discomfort. This café has the potential to be one of the top coffee establishments globally, but its present management and operational strategies squander this promise. I genuinely hope that I can revisit this review with a changed perspective in the future. For now, it remains a missed opportunity.More

Impossible to get served. Waited 20 minutes and as a woman on my own all of the people around me were served, but I couldn’t even ask for a water. I tried to go and order from the person at the front and was told...to wait. After 40 minutes I gave up. Very nice view, but not worth the hassle.More
