We just celebrated our friends 50th here and the whole night was amazing. We had a group of ten, including children and when we arrived our reserved table was done up with balloons and banners. The staff were friendly and attentive and couldn't do any more for us. The food was amazing and cooked perfectly, we had various starters, mains and deserts and all were cooked just right. The whole night was made amazing for our friend who had a great night and birthday. Thank you to all the staff and especially to the landlord and landlady for everything they did.

Had a great tea tonight at the Plough. 50% off the food was a great mid week saving (4 of us ate for £40 inc tip) Lucy our server, was lovely and got us our food and drinks really quickly. She also came back a couple of times to check everything was ok. The food; lasagne, scampi, and fish and chips were really good and excellent value for money, Will definitely go back again!

Arrived at 18:55 on a Sunday evening expecting to get a meal. Bar staff indicated the menus and told to sit anywhere as quiet. Had just started looking at the menu when waitress came over and stated kitchen closed at 19:00 and thus we could not be served. Thus forced to walk out and find somewhere else to eat. Certainly not conducive to getting a good review of a future visit.

Distinctly average food - most of the meat on the mixed grill was lukewarm by the time it made it to the table. Salad Cream was advertised with one of the starters. This was out of stock however they didn't think to mention this even when the food was brought out until we asked about it. A bottle of white wine was requested with the meal. This was not pre chilled, which you would have thought was a given in a pub. The bottle was simply placed it in an ice bucket when brought out and thus warm. Subsequent looking at the drinks menu revealed an offer whereby we would have been £5 better off had we ordered 2 large glasses of wine (rest of the bottle for free). The barman made no effort to point this out. Perhaps almost 20 years living down south has turned me into a snob, but at home people are not allowed to vape in the pub while everything felt a bit average. The above said, the portions were generous: we left feeling full. Cleanliness was fine. The food was of adequate quality and we had a nice meal. The barman was very apologetic about any missing items and the cracked wine glass. Futhermore it was walking distance from where we were staying, so we could have a drink without worrying about driving. My overall opinion: it was adequate, but when paying nearly £60 for 2 of us to have a meal I want more than adequate. Another £20 can get you a meal for 2 at an excellent steakhouse chain. Personally, I'd rather spend that little bit extra.

Came here for our evening meal, when it came it was only just warm. We were asked by waiter if our meal was alright so we said it’s not very hot. He went and spoke to chef and came back to tell us that chef said it was hot when it left the kitchen. If I wanted something cold I’d have had salad. Won’t be eating here again and don’t recommend for food.

From the minute we walked in we were made to feel welcomed. The bar staff were polite and very attentive. We ordered a meal which only took about 20/25 minutes to come and we were both pleasantly surprised as to the size of the portions. My wife had the rump steak which she said was superb and I had the texan burger which again was huge and very well presented. We then decided an a pudding and again when they arrived they were huge. The drinks were well priced and we can honestly say it is the nicest pub meal we have had in a very long time. The staff were brilliant.

Had a nice meal this week at The Plough. We were served by a lovely girl who said her name was Lucy.....nothing was too much trouble for her. The other members of staff were very nice too and I was impressed to see the cleaning of tables being done as soon as someone left. The atmosphere was good as was the food.....we were asked if we were ready for our mains a while after we'd finished our starter which meant we didn't feel too full too soon. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Had a meal with friends at The Plough this week and could not fault it. We each had different dishes, the rump steak with Diane sauce was cooked to perfection, as was the mixed grill and the chicken in white wine sauce. We were served by Erin, who was both very helpful and charming. Will definitely we be going back again!

Our local pub with one staff member working on boxing day, he was behind the bar, changing barrels, serving food and clearing up by himself. Customers helped to collect glasses, clear plates and tell customers when he was changing a barrel. We also sorted some music out so we had a bit of atmosphere. People walked out due to waiting for drinks and the long delay in getting food. He finally got help after 2 hours of struggling but then the landlady told them to go to their other pub so we were all left to wait again and help.

We benefited from a '2-4-1 September' deal more than once during our visits to the area. With this, the good quality food and surprisingly small bills were exceptional value. Even without, good value for the area! Gammon steaks were really good and the chips excellent.

Never have I ever experienced anything like this in my life let me picture this for you I Have just been in the plough one cider down getting ready for abit off bingo I go to order my second drink as I’m walking across to the bar I do a little happy shuffle across the floor. Abit off Peter crouch robot dancing. As I do because I’m happy and riddled with Adhd. I order another berries and cherries and the (Manager) - Heather replies to me with “I don’t mean to be offensive but YOUR off your tits” whilst pointing in my face. My face dropped I could not believe what I’ve just heard. I am seriously appalled by this. She says I’m not usually like this and everyone who knows me knows I love a dance and a laugh. I have never been this angry in my life !
