We had a dinner at this recommended restaurant. The food was just horrible. As a welcome we were served by the restaurant some bread and Salas's sauce for starters. When the bread arrived we noticed it was dry and with fungus on it. Just disgusting! The waiter apologized when we told him about it- but then to our surprise he... More

Only the waiter was nice, the rest of the place deceived us. The bread they brought as appetizer had fungus and was old... as an excuse, we just got similar bread... just softer. The salad was nothing you would expect from the rich agriculture zone where the restaurant is, nor the crepes-pasta... and definitely sad was the texture and flavor... More

Supposed to be one of the best in Cafayate, it really dissapointed me. Not good service, not good empanadas, not good wine.... I asked for a salad and it never came.... well... they must improve in everything!

The rating of this place is very good. The restaurant deserve it. But it was not top class: the waiters were friendly but stressed, the food was ok but not special.

We booked a table outside and received one inside with little explanation. As other tables were moved outside we asked for the same treatment, but were answered arrogantly by the girl at the entrance. Starters were ok, though quinoa was half frozen and quality surely not a good value for money trade. The worst of all were for sure the... More

The whole dinner was just perfect. We liked very much the food and the service was also perfect. They also had good knowledge of their wines and could recommend a very good wine of the region.

Must echo other reviewers that rate this place high on service but overrated on food. Our server was absolutely lovely but the food mediocre, particularly at this price point in Argentina. We had two kinds of soup-both so salty we couldn't finish them. Goat cheese salad rather flavorless. Steak decent but not jaw dropping. All in all, nothing to write... More

While we were disappointed by Cafayete's main plaza (junky, cheap eats, loud noise) Terruno Gourmet was an oasis from all that. Delicious food nicely presented, Impeccable service, nice wines: Terruno really deserves to be in a better spot. We Americans tend to eat way earlier than do Argentinians, and we were happy that Terruno could accommodate us at 7:30 p.m.

As residents of Cafayate, we eat here about once a week. Of the places we have been over the past few years, Terruno is the most consistent in the quality of the food and service. Our favorites are the salmon, pasta dishes and the lomo filet. It is also a great atmosphere, especially if you eat out front adjacent to... More

I was amazed to read a review that someone said their 'best meal in Argentina'. I suspect this is a fake review or the person has a very limited palate. Anyway the waiter was very kind and friendly. The wine, by the glass, was great. I had the rabbit in Dijon mustard sauce. The meat had small bones etc in... More
