Must echo other reviewers that rate this place high on service but overrated on food. Our server was absolutely lovely but the food mediocre, particularly at this price point in Argentina. We had two kinds of soup-both so salty we couldn't finish them. Goat cheese salad rather flavorless. Steak decent but not jaw dropping. All in all, nothing to write... More

While we were disappointed by Cafayete's main plaza (junky, cheap eats, loud noise) Terruno Gourmet was an oasis from all that. Delicious food nicely presented, Impeccable service, nice wines: Terruno really deserves to be in a better spot. We Americans tend to eat way earlier than do Argentinians, and we were happy that Terruno could accommodate us at 7:30 p.m.

As residents of Cafayate, we eat here about once a week. Of the places we have been over the past few years, Terruno is the most consistent in the quality of the food and service. Our favorites are the salmon, pasta dishes and the lomo filet. It is also a great atmosphere, especially if you eat out front adjacent to... More

I was amazed to read a review that someone said their 'best meal in Argentina'. I suspect this is a fake review or the person has a very limited palate. Anyway the waiter was very kind and friendly. The wine, by the glass, was great. I had the rabbit in Dijon mustard sauce. The meat had small bones etc in... More

After reading the reviews, we decided to try this restaurant. Definitely pricier than other restaurants in town. We were served two pork medallions in pear sauce. The pears were amazing. The meat was dry and flavorless. We mentioned it to the waiter but they didn't offer to cook a new dish. The bill came with a sad 5% discount for... More

Nice place at the main square, good value for money. We went there to have dinner and were contented with the menu and the service. Especially, we liked the salad (with typical cheese from the region) and the wine. We ordered different glasses to try and the Torrontés and Merlot we liked the best. Pasta and fish were good, but... A place to get fed, nothing more or less. I would go again but honestly you can get the same food anywhere in the town.

Our local host suggested this place and we enjoyed it. However, while the food was hot, it was not as tasty as we would have liked. It was cooked well, served hot and there was excellent service. Salt and pepper were not enough to make our food flavorful enough for our tastes. It was the first place in all of... More

Got here at 11am but an elderly waiter was trying his hardest to let us know due to some reason (?) food will be at 12pm. I was hungry so went walk around and had empanadas from the street ^^ Came back and ordered the Lomo steak and fish tower. Steak was over cooked for medium rare. The waiter came... More

We had a great dinner at Terruno restaurant, sitting outside with a nice view over the Cafayate's main square. Great atmosphere as this was a carnival evening, excellent service by English speaking waiter, menu in English was also available. Food was great accompanied by very nice local wine. Clearly recommended!
