We, had lunch on 1st Aug 2020, ordered the Daung Lann Set menu which should include a soup, it was not served until i reminded the waiter 2 times, and when it came it was not what it says in the menu so i asked...the waiter why that is and he said, it is only served at dinner, well even if it was true he should have told us upon order. And not to mention the fruit platter promised in the menu which i never saw on my table. Paid bills waited 15 minutes still nothing and yah dont think i need to remind again. So i left.More

Bad service and waiting time too long for bad taste food. Don’t go there if you don’t want to regret.

Had visited back in 2016 and was really impressed. This time around the quality has diminished. They had live musicians back then and would reveal them midway through the show. Now the just use recordings. The show was also quick and if you don't catch...it from the start they really don't let you stick around for the other show. Food was fine and the server was great though.More

Horrible service if you are a Burmese. Unless you have blond hair and speak English they don’t give a crap about you. It took 2 hours for all our orders to arrive. It took 30 minutes for a water bottle to arrive. As a Burmese...living abroad who came back to visit Bagan it left a very sour taste.More

Foods are good. Puppet show is excellent. But Some waiters are not well trained. They don't know about services. They served as if they are working at a local tea shop. They were not polite and very aggressive for tips. They are not deserved to...such a good restaurant.More

While in Bagan, apart from seeing Temples and Pagodas, we saw excellent Puppet Show and had nice food at Nanda Restaurant. The place was amazing. The Puppet craft was superb.

This restaurant is located near the hotel I stayed, hence decided to drop by to see what all the fuss is about for this place. Although the restaurant was big, it got packed by possibly all the tourists that travel by tour bus in Bagan...by 7pm. My wife and I were lucky to arrive before the tour bus and got a seat right in front near the stage. There were 2 performance time, one at around 7pm and another around 830pm. I was paying attention to the puppet show throughout, trying to understand the plot or meaning that was conveyed, but sad to say, there was no conceivable plot. There was perhaps some acrobatic puppet performance which probably requires some skills, but other than those minor saving grace, the performance was pretty bad. After each performance, the puppeteer would have a tour around the restaurant seeking for donations in return for photo-taking with them. Food was also probably the worse we had ever experience during our one week stay in Myanmar. And we made a mistake by ordering fried vegetables, which came deep fried Japanese tempura style, rather than stir fried. Even the tour groups which came quickly ate their “set meal”, and left within 30-45 mins. I guess unless you come as part of a tour group, which has this restaurant as a default stop in the itinerary, maybe other restaurants would be a better choice.More

Being hosted at Ananta Bagan Hotel, this restaurant was located 100 m. from it, so we went there. Customers were all foreigners. The puppet show, right (actually we hadn't had the chance to see one before); performance is good, they make really surprising things with...the puppets. About the meal, vegetables + prawns, which was good, and didn't take long time to be served. Price, for tourists, intl. standards.More

We decided to go to Nanda restaurant for the cultural experience of Myanmar's traditional puppet theatre as they put on a show twice throughout the evening. The puppeteers are extremely skilled and it's amazing how they control such tiny little movements of the puppets. The...restaurant is a bit of a tourist destination though, built for big tour groups with massive long tables so not an intimate or particularly relaxing dining experience. The puppet show was very, very loud and although this is one of the main purposes of the restaurant it just means you can barely talk to your table during dinner or enjoy your food properly because it's just so loud. I know they are trying to reach the back of the restaurant because it is so huge, but we were half way back and it was plenty loud enough! Staff were extremely friendly and very helpful even though they were dealing with big tour groups. It was my birthday that evening and they suddenly dimmed the lights and started singing happy birthday and the whole restaurant got up and clapped along as they brought a sweet pancake with candles, so that was a lovely touch and very kind, a big thank you to all the staff for making such an effort! The food was overall fine, not the best, the burmese beef curry was delicious and so was the coconut rice, but the other dishes were a bit too oily and not as tasteful. So overall the food was fine, but you're not coming so much for the food as to enjoy the show. The staff are great and if the music were a little quieter it would be an even more enjoyable experience.More

The ambiance of the restaurant was quite wonderful, large and airy, beautifully decorated with traditional art and long tables for groups. First, the food... delicious! I had the stir fried prawn and vegetables and the coconut rice was amazing - I could have eaten a...barrel of it! My friends were very content with their food. Service was good albeit a little slow but we were in no rush. The puppet show was entertaining and it was great to see the puppeteers. There were some “questionable” parts of the performance from a racial perspective but it was still entertaining. Not a “must see” but I was with a group so I’m glad it went.More
