So disappointing- very long wait at thr door for anyone to speak to us, even though we were being looked at but no welcome, no sit down or any kind of welcome. When I finally asked of we can sit down, it took 20mins for...anyone to serve us. This after I went up to the till asked how do I order. Then drink and crisps brought for my son - my tea never arrived until good half hour later I asked whee it was. Then - when I thought my order would have been made by then - I was told they run out of bread. Disappointing. When paying (and I shouldn't have as it was not a nice toasted sandwich and I only had some), I was asked if I enjoyed it! Really? We went there to find afternoon tea venue for family birthday- I will certainly not be going back there. So disappointing, will not be going back there again.More

Trimmed sanis, great scones and two types of cake with lashings of tea. What more could you want. Small cafe so booking advised and owner needs time to prepare the teas in advance. But everything perfect. Will be back with more visitors

First time visiting and I go past it every day, it looks great from the outside and I am always keen to support local businesses. I was finally able to pop in today hoping to get a couple of bacon sandwiches and a couple of...slices of cake to takeaway... The lady asked what I wanted, I asked if they did take out and I was told “Not today as I am on my own and I have two tables, unless you come back later”. Not what I expected and such a shame. I won’t be trying again and I’m now off to the local burger van!More

We had driven past this place many times before and only realised it was also a tea room the last time. This time we stopped by for a cream tea and we were not disappointed. The scones were particularly good which are made by the...owner and the tea was plentiful using real tea in a large pot which the lady offered to top up. We will definitely be back and can highly recommend.More

3 friends met for afternoon tea. Parking is across the road. No wheelchair access. Antiques down stairs. Delicious fresh sandwiches and tasty scones and cakes. I took the scones home. Way too much. To eat there. It was very hot , no aircon, so we...wedge Open the door. But as it is on main road, it was very noisy. I recommend booking , as only have a few tables due to social distancingMore

I was in the area with my mum and goggled tea rooms. This came up, so we headed there. When we walked in, there were 3 vacant tables, with a fourth table being occupied. The owner was sitting at a fifth table, doing paperwork. She...looked up and I asked if we could have a table for two. She asked if I'd booked and I said no. She then looked around the room at the three vacant tables and pondered on her answer for some time. I was standing there with my 87 year old mum and felt unwelcome, so I said it's ok, it doesn't matter. She then stood up and said you can sit there, pointing to a table. The menu was on boards above the counter and we wanted some kind of breakfast. Most of the breakfasts came with a huffkin and I didn't know what that was. She finally came to the table and I ordered our drinks. I asked what a huffkin was and she impatiently said that she didn't have any. I looked up at the boards again and she said did we want breakfast. I said well, we did really. She then put a piece of paper on the table and said let me make it simple for you. She obviously had a reduced menu, which is totally understandable at the moment, but why not tell us when we sat down. Her whole manner was very off putting, she clearly didn't want us there. I felt very uncomfortable and said that we would leave it and we left. Having now read the reviews, I'm glad that we did because her breakfast has appalling reviewsMore

My wife and I had breakfast at this quirky little cafe. Lovely ambience and surroundings, and good service. However the breakfast was not the best, unfortunately. It appears that all the food is microwaved which means that the scrambled eggs were poor. The bacon was...fatty and the sausages were not great either. On a more positive note the tea was lovely with a proper tea strainer and tea leaves which you rarely see now. I hate leaving bad reviews but this place could do so much better with decent food. We may return to try the sandwiches for lunch which hopefully are a bit better. Thank youMore
