We visited here for a drink prior to an afternoon's sail over to St. Kitts. Fellow guests also staying at Hermitage were very praiseworthy of the food. Definitely worth a lunch visit and a beachside drink and relaxation with a book.

Many thanks for visiting our bar and restaurant which is very popular with the sailing community. We invited the Nevis Yacht club to set up next door and they teach sailing to the youth of Nevis. Do come by and try our dinners. Chef Garys dinner menu changes every evening depending on what fresh produce is available. More

Really atmospheric spot right on the beach. The food has always been very good - only comment is that the portions could be a little larger. But then that's probably better for us!

I am glad you liked the ambience and the food. We really do listen to what our customers say and learn from reviews such as yours. A previous review said the portions were too huge, so we cut them down! Another frequent comment was that the lunch menu needed more items and the dinner menu should change frequently. As a... More

Visited during off season and so it was very quite and peaceful. There is a nice beach with very pleasant sand and nice, accessible swimming

A lovely spot to stop for coffee. Very laid back. There are gorgeous bobbing boats and also water taxis from St Kitts. The view to St Kitts is tremendous and the sound of the sea hypnotic.

Large menu of such a small place with quality sourced ingredients. HUGE portions with prices to match. Be prepared for your chosen dish to be off today but that's to be expected in a small place in a very small island country. Does have a few occasional specials but if you ate there last month, it's likely to be the... More

Thank you for complimenting us on "Good food, quality and service". We note your comment on the need for more variation in the lunch and dinner menus and will work on improving that aspect. Sorry about the big portions! More

Pretty basic and scruffy beach front cafe/bar that dresses up slightly as an evening restaurant. Very informal, with a very small menu that doesn't change from night to night. Food is inconsistent, with excellent and perfectly cooked fish but very disappointing and badly overcooked rice. Service is the usual graceless and uncaring Caribbean standard. Prices are reasonable by local standards... More

You are absolutely correct. Our fish is "....excellent and perfectly cooked...." . All our fish is sourced daily from the fishing boats that arrive at our dock. So if you want fresh, delicious fish Oualie is the place to go. Thanks for also confirming that our prices are reasonable. We try to keep our prices affordable which leads to an... More

My first review although not my first visit to be sure. We stopped to hear the Sunday music and stayed for dinner. I had the passion fruit salad (mixed greens, walnuts, apple slices, goat cheese withheld at my request & passion fruit dressing). The greens were fresh & crisp, the dressing was lovely. Main course, the vegan curry with chickpeas.... More

Thanks for complimenting our food and service. Chef Gary always has at least one vegan style choice available on the menu. In season we have live music on most evenings. Sunday is a bit exceptional with Steel pan during the Beach BBQ from 12-3pm. Dr Bob then entertains us with his "hootenanny" until pianist Lenny shows up for the dinner... More

Stop at Oualie for the view, the people, and the food Relaxed setting and thoughtful food. Ask your server for any specials or if you need something specific, ask ahead and they will do their best!

Thanks for reviewing our beachfront restaurant. Chef Gary and his team usually feature daily lunch and dinner specials based on what fresh produce is in season or what the fishermen caught that day. Genuine Caribbean style cuisine is the theme on Saturdays. If anyone has specific dietary need such as vegan or gluten free our team will do their best... More

Thanks for confirming that we have a lovely beach. You were not pleased with the time it took to get served. We take our restaurant service seriously and have trained and been approved under the UK hospitality assured program. However hiccups do occur in the Caribbean and my staff join me in apologizing for the delay in receiving your meal.... More

We had dinner here the last night of our stay on Nevis! It was such a good experience. Amazing beach, great food, and a place to meet people with live music. Outstanding. Looking forward to coming back for a visit!

Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. The perfect dining location right on the beach. Reservations are recommended in the high season. Unlike most restaurants, we insist on serving FRESH FISH. Lobster, Tuna, Wahoo and Mahi Mahi are brought right into our dock from the game fishing boats and kept on ice, never frozen. We believe in promoting "farm to the plate" and work closely with local farmers to ensure a FRESH supply of vegetables and salads. Our local tomatoes are ridiculously tasty!. We work with the Ministry of Agriculture on the supply of locally grown , grass fed, organic beef and have created the demand for a tender, tasty hybrid cross between the Zebu and Red Pole cattle breeds. Again this is always FRESH and never frozen. Our dinner menu changes daily to incorporate what local foods are available and always has at least one Gluten free and one Vegan dish.
