Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

At Linda’s place is very much a hidden gem. Run by a mother and son team, the place provides honest food and a really friendly atmosphere - with a huge selection of rum! By honest food, I mean that Andy (front of house) will go...through the menu with you and tell you what is and isn’t on that night - for example, his mother will only cook the coconut fish curry with Dorade (sea bream), so if she couldn’t get any at the market that day then it won’t be available. The food is lovingly prepared and is incredibly flavourful. Highly recommended for great food and a friendly welcome.More

A pre visit to enquire about vegan food, responded in an enthusiastic owner chef Linda, who after a little happy chatting took up the challenge of creating creole cuisine vegan style for myself and my husband. Settling on a tofu version, Linda created a fabulous...starter and main course & Andy made us his coconut rum ‘specialty cocktail ‘ too fabulous to just stop at one. Filling, authentic, flavour filled and super tasty, we recommend booking in advance to experience this excellent soul food created with love 💕 Vegan friendly, freshly prepared…. Always best to give Linda a little notice to avoid disappointmentMore

We had lunch here. We came across it while driving to a beach. Andy (Linda's son) served us, he was brilliant very attentive and explained the items on the menu we asked questions about. We had samosas, calamari and a the coconut fish curry. All...of which were fantastic. As it wasn't busy we had a very relaxing lunch Also had a chat with Linda on our way out. The food is definitely cooked with love. If you are in the area I recommend you try it. Evenings get busy so book, but lunches not so busy.More

A traveller's bucket list if they visit Mauritius for sure. Coming from a Mauritian, Linda's food is top notch, not only the food but the welcome, friendliness from her side & her son; Andy. My fiancé and I chose the 'Fish au coco' and 'Chicken...curry', the dishes were really amazing, everything were beautifully presented and had complimented every element on the plate. We do not drink alcohol but Andy thoroughly took his time and guide us through the list of beverages, the mix of cocktails and fresh juices he prepares. Post our meal, Linda took ample time to chat with us made sure to ask whether everything was to our liking. we loved the interaction ! If you are a tourist please make sure to visit this spot, this is what Mauritius is known for. ExquisiteMore

Wow. It doesn't get more authentic than this. Fabulous home cooking by Linda, who took the time to talk with us about the ups and downs of Mauritian life, which added to a cosy yet stylish atmosphere created also by her cool son Andy who...mixed some great lemon & coconut punch to get us in the mood for the best food we've eaten on the island during our honeymoon. Family restaurants like this, created and run with passion, often haven't survived Covid...and anyway Linda is due a good retirement from all her hard work to make this place so special..so it won't be around for ever sadly. Linda's Place is easy to find. So please, wherever you are staying, step out of your hotel/guided tour bubble and make the effort to come here! You'll be rewarded with a truly memorable experience that will live long in the memory. We'll certainly be back before we leave Mauritius.More

Visited Linda’s place based on TripAdvisor reviews as it was only ten minutes from our hotel. Don’t expect fancy, high-end dining; here you will feel welcomed into the owners home to enjoy some home cooked dishes. Booking is a must, you can WhatsApp the restaurant...number to do so. We enjoyed local Mauritian curries made personally by Linda and explained in detail by her son. Remember to take cash as no cards accepted!More
