Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

On holiday in Hoveton and had the choice of two chippy’s. I chose Ken’s unfortunately. I ordered 2 large Cod, 1 large chips and 2 portions of mushy peas ( the portions were tiny ). Total cost £27. I did think this was expensive but...hoped they would be worth the money. I was disappointed. The fish may well have been large in length but there was hardly any flesh and the chips were very dry and tasteless. Most of them went in the bin. We visit the area quite often and will not be returning to Ken’s.More

Best Fish & Chips in Hoveton (Wroxham) by far. Always freshly cooked and served by friendly proffessional staff whether eating in the cafe or take away. Would strongly recommend Kens Traditional Fish & Chips to any Fish & Chip connoisseurs.

We always get fish and chips from Ken's on the first evening of our holiday on the Broads, after a long drive from the North West. Great choice of fish (Cod, Haddock, Plaice, Skate and Rock) and good sizes. Very popular so there's sometimes a...short wait, but I prefer that knowing the food is freshly cooked. Hopefully, we'll be back next year!More

Always go to Kens which is the best fish and chip shop in Wroxham in my opinion, Grace is always very friendly and the customer service from all the staff is great.

Don't waste your time sitting in the restaurant, portions alot smaller, almost kids size portions and you pay more for the privilege of having less food. Order takeaway and find a bench would be my advice.

Wroxham is not Southwold, so it’s a shame that they feel the need to charge as much for what was pretty average fish and chips. Very slow service and poor customer service. The Girls were more than happy to chat to men that came in...that obviously frequent the business, but ignored the fact that we had placed an order and had been waiting for nearly half an hour. When questioned the girl took offence and mumbled under her breath, and continued to bark orders at the other two girls, ordering them to plate food for the restaurant. No sorry about your wait. Wouldn't like to be in the shop when it is at peak times!! Maybe some staff training on customer services and some more adult supervision during peak times. I would also question if she is really happy in her job???More

Friendly efficient staff and superb fish and chips. What’s not to love. So good we drive past 3 others to buy from Ken’s. Sometimes there’s a small wait but to be expected for fried to order. Well worth it.

We found this little gem in a guide book and were thrilled with the quality and pricing for a fantastic meal right by the bridge. There's a small seating area plus takeout.

We have been regularly for several years, never been disappointed, great fish &chips never go anywhere else. Always found staff very helpful.friendly in fact my wife had a fainting episode awhile back. They could have not done more. Must be difficult times for these businesses...given the escalating energy costs. Will certainly miss our Fridays if current situation causes things to change. Arline&OssMore

Great takeaway right next to the river. Big portions, good value. Still plenty hot enough by the time we got home.

Love Kens. Freshly cooked so always happy to wait, and always good value. When visiting the area I always end up here for lunch or tea. Really can't agree with anyone complaining about prices nowadays. Sadly the cost of living hits everyone. If you don't...like it, go buy a nice cardboard burger from that American place on the other side of the road.More

Fish and chips was tasty, staff didn't know what a serviette was. Not good service. Mushy peas where £3.50 a pot baring in mind the a tin is about 50p. Total rip off. I live in norfolk but wouldn't go back again. Recommend using a...better priced restaurant for just the same taste. Poor show for your locals.More

Called in for a hot drink before we got a hire boat from round the corner. A few people already waiting for their orders, I ordered a hot chocolate and not joking… from ordering to receiving it, it took 15 mins. For one hot chocolate,...this is ridiculous but not just that, let me tell you about the next customers experience…. A Yorkshire man came in and was very lively and friendly and joked as he walked in… “do you serve fish in here”? It got a few people chuckling, so while myself and another couple waited for our orders, this gentleman tried to order some fish, chips and other items. He had to repeat himself around 5 times, it wasn’t a complicated order but the girl on the counter just looked at him with a blank look on her face!! He even joked at one point and said “do I speak foreign?” The other girl had to come over and work with her to get it written down, then I had to ask her again about my hot chocolate as no one seemed to have moved to sort it, eventually the young lad came through and somehow my hot chocolate ended up with the other customers waiting and luckily the other customer handed me a drink and said, I think this one is yours! So not only did I wait 15 mins but my order went in the hands of a different customer, also mentioning that they must have waited even longer as they were waiting when I entered. They only ordered two drinks themselves! Very slow service and bad customer focus , management need to do more training and also change their arrangements for hot drinks to get them immediately served when ordered. I work in hospitality so know exactly what customer service should be like and this experience is certainly not acceptable for a quiet time of day, I must mention aswell that as soon as I left, I took a sip and it was luke warm, I was so tempted to turn back around and walk back in to get my money back but we were already getting close to our hire time because of the wait and I really couldn’t be wasting anymore of our time. Certainly won’t be popping back to Ken’s, I’ll be nipping across the road to the other establishments.More

Good food, a slightly longer than normal wait, but a mouldy bread roll. Ken’s was busy on a Sunday night as one of the few options available. A bit pricey £8 for a medium cod. NIce battered sausages.

What a lovely chip shop! I was greeted with smiles and hello's. The gluten free selection is amazing..lots to choose from. The chips were freshly cooked and very hot and the gluten free sausage was lovely. I can't wait to go again and try the...gluten free nuggets or the scampi!More
