Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The welcome and atmosphere was great, but the first dish set the scene for us. It was about half a medium sized tomato, sliced and served with a garlic and gelatinous dressing - 9.50€. The rest followed in similar fashion, quite tasty but just not...good enough value- we were out for a meal after all!More

Brilliant spot on the back streets of Sóller. Would throughly recommend to anyone visiting the area. Lovely, refined interpretation of tapas with some wonderful dishes and good wine to accompany. Service was great, and was a nice touch to have a chef elaborate on each...dish to us whilst serving. Will definitely be returning.More

Fabulous, a refined twist on tapas. We didn’t have a booking but we were accommodated even though pretty full and the waiters were friendly and efficient. Great Albariño accompanied the food and a delicate tart tatin finished off the meal perfectly. If any criticism at...all I would say the cozy restaurant was a little under heated for this time of year.More

Honestly I was not very impressed by this dinner. This cosy restaurant is situated in a small street, with a little terrace. Inside it looks nice and neat and the waiters are friendly. As a couple we took 5 dishes and this was enough for...us. The first dish we got was patas with aioli. Tasteful but too much aioli and garlic. I know garlic is one of the main ingredients of aioli, but now the garlic overwhelmed the taste of the other dishes and we were almost full of the amount of aioli. The second dish was tortilla with truffel. The taste was good, but the tortilla was a bit too moist and not heated through, so the inside was still cold. We haven’t said anything. The third dish was vegetarian with some beans, chickpeas etc. This was okay, not really special to me. The fourth dish was the best: mussels, octopus and other seafood with a bit tomato sauce. We both liked this. My husband had the fifth dish: Mexican flavoured meat with guacamole and cheese. He liked this dish too. Overall not a bad dinner, but not spectacular at all. We’ve had better for less in Mallorca. Please note: this restaurant only accept cash. We were calculating during diner if we had enough cash with us to pay the bill. Luckily we managed. Hopefully they will add card to their payment method soon.More

A modest little restaurant tucked away in an alley off the main square with absolutely spectacular cuisine. We ordered 4 dishes and all were sensational: the goat cheese toast (a description which utterly understates the brilliance of the dish), the artichoke heart with mushrooms, and...the squid bocata. Even the patatas bravas was a novel interpretation of the humble standard, and was out of this world. If my best friend were coming to Soller and could only have one meal, this is where I'd send them.More

We stumbled on Casa Alvaro when wandering around Soller. It's a fairly small restaurant with a few tables out in the street (passageway really). The people were lovely and the food was great. Just one tip - if you don't want people constantly walking past...your table, eat inside. We were happy with the outside table - it added to the atmosphere. Highly recommended.More

WOW! This was probably the best food we ate during our 11 day tour of Spain (Barcelona, Valencia, Alicante and Mallorca). We stumbled across this gem on our last night in Soller and were blown away. The potatoes bravas were the best we ate (and...we ate a lot of them during our trip). The sauces were perfection and when mixed with the potatoes had the perfect amount of spice. The chicken flutes (flautas) were amazing as was the duck & mole. We finished our meal with the dessert of the day which was a truly wonderful mango torte. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough - our only regret was not finding it sooner so we could have eaten there more than once.More

We loved this little restaurant so much. It was recommended by our hotel and we visited twice during our holiday in Soller. The dishes are served tapas style from a relatively short menu with something for everyone. Creative dishes beautifully presented. Was akin to a...fine dining experience. The waiter/ waitress were both so friendly and the chef/ patron came out to see how we were enjoying the meal. We ate on the outside terrace although there is a small, atmospheric dining room inside. Situated in a little side street off the main square. Would recommend booking as very popular. Highly recommended. The best food we ate in Soller and there is some stiff competition!More

This was our second visit and was even better than we remembered The tapas here is imaginative, creative and most importantly super tasty. We loved the Mexican twist to some of the tapas. Service was good and prices were very reasonable. We've also eaten at...Bar Pintxos next door but prefer the food here.More

A close family member recommended Casa Álvaro and we decided to try it. Such an excelent choise! Not too many dishes on the menu, each of them described and if desired/needed, the staff will explain it even better. The staff was professional and very kind...all the time. Even though the restaurant was full, we were perfectly served. The wine selection is little but perfect. It just matches with the food. The atmosphere is relaxing, soft music played all evening, we enjoyed it all around. The chef himself came by, asked how everything was going, and gave us an explanation of his food concept.More

We stumbled on this restaurant by chance and we’re so happy we did. The camarero (cannot remember his name but he was from Porto) was highly knowledgable about the food and wine; he recommended the squid bocato which is calamares sandwiched in an ensaimada. It...was truly one of the most divine, tastiest things I’ve ever had. We also had goats cheese toast, truffle tortilla and duck. Our favourites were the goats cheese toast and squid bocato. Excellent value for money for the high quality of food, wine and service.More

We enjoyed a variety of beautiful gluten free tapas dishes at this restaurant. Our Portuguese waiter was friendly and helpful, and our family had a lovely time. We sat inside but there is the option to sit outside too. Definitely recommend Casa Alvaro!
