We called in as a break of our journey around Strangford Lough. The Guinness was perfect, chilled and so smooth. Lunch was tasty but not over generous in portion size. There are no ales so the choice of beer is Guinness, Magners or lager!!

We had a lovely time and meal at the Saltwater Brig. Staff were incredibly lovely and helpful. The starter and mains were all excellent. Puddings had used canned fruit and just were not up to the high standard of the other two courses from open menu. We would go along again as building and everyone great but would think before... Whether you visit on your own, with family or friends, you can be sure of a warm welcome at the Saltwater Brig. The venue can be quite busy as it's very popular, so you may want to book to avoid disappointment. The ambience is very relaxed, but there's also a lively hum from the various conversations at each table. The... More

Called in by chance today and were surprised to see a new improved menu, a wider variety of fare. If u couldn't find something to have there u won't anywhere. I had to deliberate between several dishes and finally plonked for the Brisket of Beef in a Philly cheese sauce with onions and mushrooms inside a baguette plus a side... More

Visited here today with my elderly grandparents and 8 year old son. The food was amazing, the portions huge and the service excellent. The lady who served us was so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. I can't recommend this place highly enough!

Four of us went for lunch and we all had a different dish. We all agreed we enjoyed our meals very much. When we first arrived we sat to the left of the door as there was no table near the fire, it was quite cold and I mentioned it to the waitress, so before our food came she came... More

We had a lunch break and decided to stop in Saltwater Brig. Outside of the restaurant look so small and basic but inside was so chic nice decorated so warm and friendly stuff. Topside beef was so delicious I recommend Saltwater Brig to everyone who come and visit around Portaferry.

Between Kircubbin and Portaferry, a great country gastropub, friendly welcome and great no frills food, Sunday 2 courses deal, ample parking and a great outside area for the few sunny days we get over here.
