We stayed here in the winter and it was really quiet, but the place is full of character albeit it needed a wee dust here and there in the bedroom. I have tosay though, the food was really good!

We stayed in this hotel and dined there. It was dark with only two lights available. And cold, so extra sweater is advisable. The music was the shouting from the adjoining bar. Food was average pubfood.

I took my parents here for dinner the other evening. My dad and I had langoustines to start. Perfectly cooked. Accompanied by a delicious citrus salad and lemon mayonnaise. Very tasty. Even more pleasing was the generosity of the portions. Far too often, because langoustines look a lot on the plate you receive a miserly number. I followed with a... More

Arrived after 2pm on a weekday in May and the place looked deserted. Pleasantly surprised to walk in to a very warm welcome and a full bar menu of reasonably priced hot and cold food. The venison burger was served quickly and was excellent: thick and succulent, pink in the middle with a good char on the outside, and served... More

This place doesn't look much from the road. Don't be deceived! Very much worth a stop. We only had hot drinks and scones and left regretting we had no opportunity to sample more of the food or the well-stocked, welcoming bar. The furniture enveloped us in its' rustic, comfortable embrace. Could easily spend some time dozing between meals, ales and... More

We visited here off season in January but despite this, the restaurant was open and we were warmly received by the staff. We were the only people eating there that night which on one hand seemed a real shame as the place is gorgeous. However, we did also feel like royalty as we had the place to ourselves; the attentiveness... More

We were residents in the hotel and arrived early evening , so we obviously wanted to eat here. The waitress was friendly, efficient and knowledgable. We looked at the menus in the lounge and then went through to the dining room. There were only 2 more people in so not a lot of atmosphere . The menu was limited -... More
