It's not about the food, even though it's good, it's about the total experience. Sitting elbow to elbow with soon to be new friends while enjoying old school service in a classic environment. This is a must thing to do.

I have been eating here with my family for more than 50 years. On our most recent visit the out of town guests were raving about the oxtail stew and garlic fried chicken. There was a mix of locals and first time visitors. There were also people who used to live in Bakersfield who make it a point to come... More

Bakersfield is a bit famous for it's Basque food. If you want authenticity, this is the best place by far. Meals are served family style. Don't leave Bakersfield without at least one visit.

Family style. Everyone sits at a long table at set times. A lot of yummy food and wine. We were served both beef & pork!

The food is served family style, there is nothing like Noriega's. Excellent food & lots of it: soup, salad, cottage cheese, pickled tongue (the BEST), spaghetti, oxtail stew, green beans with garlic, prime rib. Coconut & pineapple ice cream. All accompanied by red wine. Yum!!! Plus surrounded by great friends & family, can't beat it.

I love the Basque cabbage soup. The soup had noodles and no cabbage the day we visited. I was very disappointed. Service and hospitality were great.

It's been almost 10 years since moving from Bakersfield to the Bay area and decided to return and visit family. My spouse and I took three family members to visit Noriega's for the first time. All enjoyed the soup, beans and salsa entree first. The tongue and the oxtail were also a big hit with our group. The usual potato... More

Food offerings seemingly random and served family style, several meats (beef brisket, chicken), fries, spaghetti with tomato sauce, various vegetables. Lots of food, pretty tasty, but the best part was the eclectic decor and the family style service during which one could meet new, interesting people and carry on group interactive conversations. Food prepared and served by an aged woman.... More
