The wife wanted the Stone Crab Claws that are flown in from Florida. Very hard to find in the Los Angeles area. She was aware that they were served here and they always run out. We had reserved three orders of four each plus they had one extra. We took it. Thirteen crab claws for three people. They were terrific.... More

We met another couple at The Grill for an early Valentine's Day dinner, it was fantastic! Some of us had fish and some of us had steak, it was all delicious, perfection. One thing you have to have are the lobster mashed potatoes, they are the best in town. We also had the Keylime pie for dessert which was so... More

I so wanted to really like this restaurant. Had been to their Hollywood (now closed) location for lunch and it was excellent. Decided to take the wife to their Bev Hills restaurant. We arrived early and had a drink at the bar. Bartenders were very nice, place was packed. We were shown our table - right next to the busy... More

We spent New Years Eve at Grill on the Alley and loved every second of it!! Even though it was mainly an older crowd we did have a fun time. Food was excellent, our server was quite humorous, which was great! Would I return without a doubt!!!

Regular lunch time tables are the norm at this old school Beverly Hills lunch time and early dinner staple. If you are hankering for maroon booths, waiters in white jackets and American food done right this is your spot. Keep in mind it caters to an older crowd with aging yuppies being the young guns with the true regulars remembering... More

Name of the restaurant indicates its limited menu - essentially steak or fish. John Dory apparently is flown in from New Zealand and may have been in the air the same time as we were flying to USA from Australia - as an indicator of price, $40 served with creamed spinach. Dark panelled room and white jacketed waiters/waitress suggests jacket... More

Traveling through Hollywood on a tour bus, cut the tour short to walk through Rodeo Dr. Expected to find an over priced over rate restaurant for lunch. The Grill on the Alley however was excellent: fabulous, charming and attentive service; food quality excellent. My son loved the chicken pot pie, my wife and I had fish, both with capers, very... The atmosphere, the staff and the food are first class at this restaurant. But the standout for us was their John Dory fish. We have eaten this fish in its native areas of New Zealand and Australia, however, the cut, preparation and taste at this restaurant are outstanding. Their fish is flown in direct from New Zealand, so its very... More

On our last night in LA the concierge booked this restaurant. A simple restaurant and bar with booths and waiters wearing white jackets. There were 5 of us and we were accommodated in a booth at the rear of the restaurant. The portions are huge, I have never seen jacket potatoes that big, and the side orders of green vegetables... Staying in Beverly Hills

Neighbourhood Profile
Beverly Hills
Beverly Hills began as a modest village years ago and today you can still feel its small town origins, even though it has become a major tourist attraction and business center for the entertainment industry. This town lives up to its reputation as an area full of designer retail stores and residential streets lined with mansions and palm trees. Inside the commercial center of Beverly Hills, along Rodeo Drive, droves of tourists peak into ultra-luxurious boutiques hoping to catch a glimpse of someone famous. Off of Rodeo Drive however is where some of the most affluent Angelenos occupying the streets of Beverly Hills come for leisurely meals, power lunches and beauty treatments.
