After walking around the town for a few hours on a sunny November day, we decided to stop at El Jacalito for some Happy Hour beers and food. The patio was getting a bit chilly as the sun was setting, so we opted for a seat in one of the high tables in the bar. The staff was friendly and... More

Second Time here and was not impressed. I ordered the Barbacoa and it was very bland in Flavor. Customer Service was... Eh!!! My order came with 3 Tortillas. I asked for more and when the bill came I was charged extra for them. It was just a dollar, but still.... Probably won't go back again.

We stopped here for a really late lunch. They have a happy hour from 3-6 and so we fell within that time frame. Prices were good and liked the atmosphere. Our order got all kinds of screwed up though so I had to ding stars. The food that did show up tasted good but was wrong. They did beef instead... More

A cut above the average Mexican restaurant. Had shrimp fajitas; tasty but onions & peppers were either burned or not fully cooked. Also Chile rosa (beef chunks in red sauce) with rice and pinto beans. Several salsa options and extensive tequila list. Indoor dining plus outdoor patio.

This weekend, Big Bear was hosting Oktoberfest and every single restaurant was packed. Despite this, we were seated right away. The food was excellent and the restaurant staff bent over backwards to ensure that my son (who has several food allergies) was served a meal that he enjoyed. We will definitely be coming back in the future!

I stopped in for dinner and found the food to be authentic and great tasting, just like mom use to make! The service was second to none and combined with the atmosphere, made this a great place for dinner.

I had a carnitas burrito, my lovely wife had chicken flautas, my brother-in-law had a chicken tostada. Portion sizes were very large. The food was really tasty, and as the title says--the green tomatillo salsa was very tasty! (They have a salsa bar--you can sample several different kinds of salsa, as well as pickled jalapenos/carrots and marinated onions/carrots.) The service... More

Labor Day weekend, Big Bear Village was pretty packed. The restaurant was busy when we came for dinner on Saturday, our party of three got seated almost right away. Grilled chicken tacos with rice & bean was tasty & filling. Their burrito is the size of a small child. Pina Colada is served in a hollowed out pineapple. Overall, the... More
