Went for breakfast. Have been before. Breakfast was ok but definitely pricey for what we got. Staff was friendly and attentive.

This cafe is on the main drag in Carlsbad. The outdoor seating is fenced off from the street. The staff was excellent. We were seated quickly even though they were busy. We were there for an early lunch/brunch. The selections were varied and all looked terrific. I opted for a steak and eggs special. My wife had a seafood omelet.... More

With 200 items on the menu, I took a risk and tried the corned beef hash and hash browns. While I appreciated the homage to my home state, I was surprised by the soggy canned Hormel (based in Austin, Mn) corned beef hash I received. For anyone who's not had it, this petroleum-based franken-food is slightly more appetizing than canned... More

went for breakfast- it was a cold morning but they have heaters outside on the patio. Large breakfast menu, had the popeye omlette and was full of spinach and mushrooms just like I wanted! Not overfilled with too much egg. Coffee always hot. My fiance had the turkey sandwich and chili- he wasn't a fan of the chili b/c had... More

Nice atmosphere with good patio dining and friendly staff. Breakfast was very good and service was speedy. The only drawback is the washrooms are a long flight of stairs.

Daily News was a great place to land for a late breakfast - patio with umbrellas and sun mixed - out of the wind. Excellent bloody-marys, great seafood salad - no rushing in or out. We sat, we ate, we enjoyed the sun and a warm day after all the rain.
