This is more of a diner than a coffee shop. That is, there is an extensive menu and breakfast is served all day. While not cheap, the prices are reasonable, especially by Coronado standards. The staff was very friendly and efficient. It seemed that there was a good mix of locals and tourists. We were seated quickly (it was the... More

Enjoyed a breakfast at Clayton's iconic old school Diner in the heart of Coronado. The food and server were fabulous as we enjoyed our meal bellied up to the main counter. The wait was about 15 min as seating is limited but well worth the wait for the experience.

Clayton's is a REAL 50's style diner. Eat at the counter and play a song from the tabletop juke box. Enjoy one of the best milkshakes in the world - I loved the cherry milkshake and it was so worth the calories. It's very traditional - so my son's pork-chop dinner was what you might expect from a meal from... More

Great old fashioned diner with mini jukeboxes on the counter! The service & food were outstanding and portions were huge. Biscuits and gravy were top notch and the hash browns were superb. They are famous for their milkshakes which looked great. They also have a walk up window to get coffee and food in case you are in a hurry... More

Was able to snag a spot at the counter, 830am on a Saturday as a solo diner. Coffee was great and served quickly. Denver omelette did not disappoint either. Glad it was recommended by the hotel (El Cordova) where I was staying as I always try to avoid chain restaurants, especially when I travel.

We stopped in for dessert on the way home from dinner and were sad we didn't eat dinner here too! Old time diner with amazing desserts. The apple pie and the coconut cream pie were what we got. So good, greet service and fun atmosphere!

All i had here was their coffee. My other half and I were walking Hotel Del when we were craving a cup of coffee. Instead of buying one there we walked down the street and found clayton. Glad we did cause their coffee was amazing. Not acidic and tasted so fresh. And the price was so cheap.

When we visit Coronado... Claytons is first place we stop. Daily Specials are to die for. But breakfast is a must everyday Like mom's in the kitchen

This diner is fantastic. The decor reflects the traditional diners even with mini jukeboxes at the tables. The food is even better with a huge breakfast menu. We loved this so much we went back a second day.

What a cute little 50's themed diner with a jukebox at each table. Loved the breakfast & the oreo milkshake.
