Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I feel that, with respect, a fair amount of the other reviewers I've read on here expected something different from this restaurant than what this restaurant has to offer. This place is both "hip" AND higher quality of food. It's a great mixture of both...trendy gastropub eats AND colorful high-class chops and grilled items. Their happy hour $8 burger is easily worth upwards up $20 at a similar place, and everything else I've eaten or drank there is phenomenal. They provide experimental eats and tried-and-true classics, and all have been wonderful. You can also come here for a quality cocktail alone, but regardless of what you come for, it's going to be higher quality. It's not Morton's, but it's also not a greasy spoon hipster gastro: it's the best of both of those ideas put together. The staff here is accommodating and colloquial--this place gets busy, especially on weekends and at brunch, but they've always seemed to treat me with respect, even as a single diner at the bar. One time they made a mistake on my check and gave me a full refund, no questions asked. I'd recommend going here no matter what you're into. Cheers.More

Just OK. Best part were the french fries! And the drinks were good, also! BUT the meet entrees were pretty tasteless, the meat quality was not that great, and let's just say it was disappointing. FOR THE PRICEPOINT, THEY SHOULD BE SPOT ON! We didn't...go crazy or anything... I had a drink, a beer, split a salad with my wife, then the meat dish.... and it came to $120 per person! Pretty overpriced for what you get. And on top of that, the meat wasn't really anything special. So, won't likely be back... too many other PHENOMENAL places to go in the area!!! P.S. chairs are super dang annoying took, rock hard little metal chairs. I think they could do a little better...More

This an email written to the manager at Social and I never received a response. I even reached out to an owner and he didn't even apologize. I have never had a worse experience in my life. I was partially refunded...rightfully so since I was...over charged $140 and the food was AWFUL. I want to thank you for partially refunding our dinner from Wednesday night. I did a good amount of research and picked Social for various reasons from reviews, happy hour selection, outdoor seating and location. I really wanted to make our dinner special and I wanted to treat my son and his friends to a great meal since they don’t get the opportunity to eat outside very often. The night was rather disappointing. Not only were we overcharged on several items, approximately $100 of overages plus the $40 extra tip I gave the server since she never provided me with an itemized bill and never told me our group would be assessed the 18% gratuity. She did nothing to make our experience special or even just feel normal. She was a poor communicator and lacked any positive energy towards or group. I hate to say this but I almost feel like she racked up our bill on purpose to get a larger tip and then when I told her 4 times I would leave the tip for the table she never informed me that the gratuity was already included in the total bill and since I didn’t have a bill to look at I was completely unaware. The state where I come from many restaurants do a surcharge and pay their servers a livable wage so I did look on the website ahead of time to see if that was the case here and I saw nothing mentioned about gratuity or surcharge. The waitress conveniently withheld that information even after I mentioned to her on 4 occasions that I would be covering the tip for the table. She knew very well she was about to get an $80 tip on an over priced bill. I feel like my trust and niceness was totally taken advantage of and that makes me sad. Unfortunately, nobody cared for their food and most of it was uneaten. There are more things that upset me like, when my son mentioned to the server that the hamburger is a far cry from the picture on the menu and the patty was quite smaller (the one on the menu had two patties) than the bun. She offered him and his friend an additional hamburger to split. She charged them $15 for that hamburger and NEVER told them upfront they would be charged. It was very bizarre. I asked for a Paloma (from the happy hour menu) with vodka but she neglected to tell me I would be charged $14 plus $2 for the vodka. How does that make any sense? Because I want vodka in it I have to pay full price plus $2. We asked her for suggestions on the happy hour appetizers (we wanted to order 2) and she suggested the bone marrow, shisito peppers, empenadas and Brussels sprouts but the bone marrow wasn’t on the happy hour appetizer menu. She went ahead and charged us $20. One last suggestion to the chef. The Brussel sprouts would be much more appealing as a savory dish like garlic, balsamic vinegar or soy sauce or sautéed in a spicy sauce. The sugar drenched brussel sprouts are not edible at all! They tasted like a dessert rather than an appetizer. The “grilled cheese” needs a lot of help such as more cheese, a better bread and really everything doesn’t need that very odd bacon jam. The bread was dry and it was totally tasteless. I had 1 1/2 wedges, 2 Brussel sprouts ( not edible either) and that’s it! Also, the bib lettuce dish was terrible, odd and just disgusting. I live in Minneapolis and we have a lot of foodies there and I had higher expectations here and was completely let down. Sorry for the long message. I am on my flight back to Minneapolis and this whole experience really shook me. I didn’t sleep last night as I really felt taken advantage of and I really needed to share what happened. I really hope you shared this with the higher ups and good changes will come from this.More

We went to grab a bite and a drink. The buffalo cauliflower was very good as was the beets & burrata salad. Fun cocktail menu - Shisho Boujee - YUM! And those donuts for dessert. I will go back, interested in the brunch menu.

Went here for a business team dinner (12 people) and had a great meal. Cocktails were very different, mine being a hop Moscow mule (made with a hoppy beer and spicy ginger bitters rather than the traditional ginger beer) - see photo, was really good!...Took a selection of apps (which actually took too long to arrive in my opinion - but the waitress said this was because the restaurant was busy!!!) which were very good, especially the bone marrow! Amazing. Had what I call “upscale fish and chips”, as the fish was sea bass, not your usual cod or haddock! It was really excellent! Highly recommend this new place!More

Our first mistake was walking through the door at 6:30 and practically no one was there dining. Drinkers in the bar, yes. Eating no. So the host directs the four of us to the worst table in the corner where the four of us would...sit side by side. Reluctant to move us, but finally moved us to a four seat table (and we had reservations). Interesting concept with shared plates and Mains. Between the four of us we ordered two shared and 2 main. Our of the two shared, the hummus was tasty, an artichoke was charred but under cooked, We then had our mains served. We ordered the pasta tagliatelle (barely enough for one person and cold) and ravioli which was so cold our dining partners sent it back...we ate ours cold. They took it back, fifteen minutes later the dish came out again and it was still cold. Someone other than our waiter offered to take the pastas of our bill - both of them, which I believe was appropriate. Further, our table was sticky when we arrived and it was never cleaned. The table next to us was set for diners but I could see liquid and remnants of food on it. When we left at 8:30, the place was starting to fill up with a very young crowd. Very unhappy experience. We all agreed we wouldn't go back if everything was free.More

We were headed for another breakfast spot when we saw all the cars in the parking lot. What a great find. Nice atmosphere; sophisticated but not stuffy. Fun staff and great food. Orders are large so most things can be shared. Fried chicken sandwich is...a masterpiece though I chose to have the eggs on the side. Breakfast sandwich with chorizo was also outstanding. The Bloody Marys have quite a kick but I wouldn’t want to miss out. We will be back with friendsMore

This isn't your typical burger you find in all American restaurants. This is a BRUNCH burger! Not only is the meat cooked to your fancy, and the cheese soft and gooey, but come on, bacon marmalade and an egg! While savoring the marmalade on my...tongue, it felt like tiny ballet dancers jumping with joy for something exquisite. It comes with french fries that are crunchy on the outside, soft and cooked to perfection on the inside. Vanilla lavender Earl Grey iced tea rounded out my meal. The BEST tea I've ever had, with hints of vanilla, relaxing lavender, and as robust as an English soldier with Earl Grey. Give this meal a try. You won't be disappointed.More

We (2 couples) decided to try this restaurant during the OC Restaurant week. The atmosphere was nice and hip. The food was good 👍🏻 and drinks on the pricier side. Conrad at the front desk was very accommodating. We arrived 30 min before our reservation...of 7:45pm and was immediately seated because an earlier guest did not show up. It’s a must try place and will definitely return back to check out their other dishes on the menu. The only setback is the low availability of self park spaces however the restaurant has a Valet Parking service for their guest.More

I have eaten here for dinner and lunch and I personally preferred the lunch. The food was so much better and it wasn't as much of a scene. I was not a big fan of the dinner and I felt rushed and it was a...bit too hectic for my liking. I am sure I will return again though as my family seems to love this place.More

This place is just dumb. Correction, some vanilla wanna be Echo Park hipster LA hotspot set in south Orange County filled with blonde hair flips and bro knuckle taps. How are you charging $9 for some fries made of ONE potato? What kind of monsters...run this place? Oh then your burger doesn't come with Fries?! And ladies and gents this patty was covered in bun. Yes 2 patties but with cheap American cheese for $15... thanks for the plastic cheese... Meatballs... 3 just 3... Now chicken and waffles you guys are a joke. Chicken was burnt and seriously it was nuggets no no I rather eat nuggets from McDonald's. And that waffle was wack. Go cook this yourself you'll be more satisfied. Like you just barely tried to make this, didn't even try to steal a good recipe. I'm so glad this place is in the OC cuz y'all can keep this joke. Ohhhhh and worst part your drinks suck cuz I tried several, hobby mule, beet nasty, spicy poop. All are trying too hard. Check yourself, get out of the OC. I'd put an emoji here with the hands up... but can't... lucky you.More

Service was great too. Second time here...and it was just as good last time! Amazing best spot I’ve been to in the OC in the last year!!More
