This is the restaurant I have used as my measuring stick for what great sushi should taste like for the last 10 years. The tuna tartlets are one of the best things I have ever put in my mouth. This restaurant is a hidden little gem in Davis and worth visiting.

It was my daughters who introduced me to the absolute pleasure of Moshi Moshi Sushi. Previously, I was not much of a sushi fan, but I went with them and found the range of vegetarian sushi (i also occasionally am a carnivore) really was fantastic. I was pleasantly surprised that they also had a range of non-sushi items that my... More

It's just a little hunting to find this spot as well as a parking space, but it was worth it after we got here. Not sure if it's family-run but it sure seemed like it was. Every table was packed and still the service was really good and relatively quick. The appetizer came after the entree which was the only... More

Even though we got there before opening we were welcomed. The sushi is very fresh, lovely to look at & delicious. There are a lot of choices, and if you can't make up your mind there's a list of favorites on the wall. We were there for lunch so we couldn't try the quinoa instead of rice dishes, but they... Our party consisted for 5 people for dinner. We ordered different sushi rolls and all were good size and portions. The miso soup was better than usual. Informal and service was good. A bit pricier that I expected for the setting but food portions were adequate.

Picture a California roll with masago and tiny baked scallops on top and you have the BSC roll. Best chicken yakitori, super peach sake, great sushi chefs Jimmy and Stacey! Service can drag a bit on busy nights but it's so worth it. Don't skip the veggie rolls. Aggie roll and midori roll are veg but so tasty. End the... More

There is no need for anyone living in south Davis to go further for a superb Japanese meal. Stacey and Jimmy and the wonderful staff greet you with charm seldom experienced anywhere else. Low key in atmosphere but high in the freshness and quality of their sashimi, make and their traditional Bento and other dishes, Moshi Moshi definitely delivers more!

There are literally dozens of sushi places in the Davis/Sacramento area, but this jewel box of a restaurant in south Davis offers tender chicken yakitori at a steal and makes delicious, unique rolls. They offer theme menus, including the bloody Mary roll for Halloween. Skip the buffets for a good, slow paced, personalized meal from sushi chef Jimmy and owner... More

Pretty damn good sushi, especially the one with mango. Service can go down the tubes later at night, and during peak lunch hour.
