We went to the restaurant after the Farmer's Market as it is quite convenient. We sat in the front dining room where it was quiet and comfortable. All of us had soup and sandwiches. We have been coming here through the years and have always been pleased with the food and service.

We had eaten at Mustard Seed previously, as it was a fast, convenient, and decent quality lunch on our drive to Northern California. On this visit, we arrived at 1:10pm, hungry after a 3 hour drive, and were told the kitchen was closed, even though the closing time posted was 1:30. We asked why the kitchen was closed, when the... This is a small restaurant in the heart of Davis. The food is delicious and the presentation of each plate is outstanding. If you are attending a concert at the Mondavi Center it is wise to book an early table at least by 5:30 or 6:00 p.m. for an 8:00 p.m. performance so you will not be rushed. Service is... More

Went for dinner and some dishes were good and others were average. The salmon carpaccio with shaved fennel and orange was very good but the crab cake appetizer was bland. The tomato bisque in puff pastry was excellent but the rack of lamb with potato croquette needed more assertive seasoning. The chocolate croissant bread pudding would have benefitted from Ghiradelli... More

I've eaten here for many years but notice that since the new ownership, the prices have really gone up. The least expensive bottle of wine was $39 with most being $45 and above. The service is good but the main server is hard to hear and understand. English is not her first language and though she was very nice and... More

This is a small place with a cozy atmosphere and delectable food. The tomato bisque with puffed pastry was a tasty start followed by a mustard seed sauce and pork tender loin cooked to perfection. There was an amplitude of mashed potatoes which were a good compliment but a bit too generous. Supper was finished off with a dark chocolate... More

We were looking for a place to eat before going to a show at the Mondavi. The Mustard Seed has an excellent tripadvisor rating so we decided to check it out. Our food was excellent and the atmosphere was quaint. Our server was weak but our impression was that she was new and that that's not the norm for this... More

Excellent place, quiet, and laid back with excellent food. I had to go back a second night it was so good. Great fish and other dishes and a good wine selection.

Nice atmosphere, we ate outside on patio before going to the Mondavi center. Good service, Sea Bass was excellent. Very pricy for Davis

Had dinner here our first night of what was a two week trip to Northern CA. Spent one night in Davis and found this restaurant a few doors down from our hotel (Best Western Palm Court) Cute location in what was once a house, the MS has a great location, friendly service and great food. I had the chicken and... More
