Passing by this town, came across this little restaurant, decided to give it a try. Glad we did! On the outside seemed small and not too I citing, but once we went in, was nice and clean, the service was excellent, SUPER fast. Our food was very good and the portions were plenty. Whenever I come through here, will make... More

The food here is off the hook. The service is fast and friendly and the Chili Rellino is the best I have ever had. Everything here is yummy and authentic Mexican cuisine, the best in town.

It had been more than a year since our last visit and my husband and I thought it would be a good idea to have a meal on our first day of arrival in Desert Hot Springs. We arrived and there weren't many customers around as it was a week day. The staff attended to us right away. As I... More

Went in for lunch. Prices were ok. Tacos were really good. Enchilada was ok. Beans were runny. The hot sauce was also very good.

Had dinner here on our first night in town based on TP reviews. Food was very good, large portions and very reasonable priced. Service is friendly and feels very much like a family ran enterprise. My husband and I both had burritos. The sauce was delicious. My only comment is that we would have preferred a bit more spice. The... More

Fernando, a 12 year matador professional fought in MX, Spain and So. Amer. until the accident. Meet and talk with this interesting guy. The place is typical MX, old well used furniture and mixture of beer signs, tile, crap. Prompt service, popular, food presentation thrown on the plate, not particularly tasty, but some interesting spinish enchiladas-not the greatest of old... More

We ordered food from South of the Border on one of the nights we stayed at Sea Mountain and were surprised when we didn't have to give up quality for convenience. The portions were more than satisfying, we even had some leftover to snack on later in the room!

This is a great local Mexican restaurant. Service is good food is excellent. I love the steak Picado or the Chili Verde. The Shrimp cocktail is a meal in itselself served up Mexican style. Try it all with a strawberry margarita.
