Went for dinner. We were seated immediately, and yum! I went with small plates, brie and oysters remoulade. My husband had pecan crusted catfish. Brie came with ritz crackers ... hmm ... a dozen oysters! Not such a small plate! Luckily, my husband had some room, and helped me finish.

This restaurant opens at 5:00. We went there for dinner one night based on recommendations from the bartender in one of the taverns in town. I had the steamed clams but after eating a couple of them I realized that there's no way I can eat clams that have too much grit or sand in them so I didn't finish... More

Garberville, CA? Really?? Cecil apparently trained with Emeril Lagasse, and it shows. The pecan crusted catfish with meunière sauce was authentic and tasty, topped with crab. And the crayfish pasta in cream sauce was even spicier! Be sure to save some French bread to sop up the sauce, or ask for a spoon!

We ordered from the menu that featured a variety of New Orleans cuisine. Appetizers and entrees were excellent and served by vivacious and hustling wait people. Our food arrived quickly, but we were not rushed. The menu had a variety of desserts and I settled on the pecan pie with bananas Foster. Scrumptious. Needless to say, I will be back.... More

Enjoyed the food at this restaurant. It was very good. I had the blackened salmon. The drinks were good. They do serve alcoholic beverages as well as soda. The service was extremely slow and the restaurant is very noisy.

We headed here to see the Avenue of the Giants on our honeymoon. Many people may have avoided Garberville but if the did they would have also missed out on Cecil's. The food was amazing. If you want to experience it book. The service was the same. Craig looked after us and not only was he knowledgeable and promoted the... More

This place is awesome. True New Orleans cooking, at least as I've ever had. Yeah, it's got a little bit of a divey feel to it, but we were only in the bar area, so I can't comment on the restaurant side. The food here is phenomenal, and we sat at the bar where we chatted with the locals, the... More

What a delightful little restaurant. Garberville doesn't exactly lend itself to be the epicenter of diverse or quality cuisine, but Cecil's stands out as an exception. The atmosphere is relaxing and fun, with an adjoining bar/music scene. We had the seared tuna on a bed of seaweed salad, with fresh warm bread and a fried oyster appetizer. It was excellent....
